How on God's Green Earth does guys who ruled the division for a hot minute (Walcott, Schmeling, Tunney, Charles and Patterson) get in front of a decade who controlled it for a decade?
I read these 2 lists over 5 times thinking I'd missed his name, maybe I have.... I just can't get my head around a top 10 (5 even) without Muhammad Ali in it, never mind 20
Like I said, the order of the list after 11 and 12 is not really organised. If you want the Klitschkos at 13 and 14, be my guest and put them in that order. I put it together quickly and as names were ocurring to me. I'm not overly concerned about the order because I'm not convinced that there were that many truly great heavyweights outside of a top 12. Oh, and I forgot Jeffries and Corbett too so I'd probably drop a couple of names out now. The order of my top 10 changes all the time too so I'm even less precious about the top 20.
11. Marciano 12. Holyfield 13. Jeffries 14. Tunney 15. Langford 16. Bowe 17. W Klitschko 18. V Klitschko 19. Fitzsimmons 20. Sullivan
11. Wladmir Klitschko 12. Joe Frazier 13. Evander Holyfield 14. Jim Jeffries 15. Jersey Joe Walcott 16. Sam Langford 17. John L Sullivan 18. Gene Tunney 19. Vitali Klitschko 20. Floyd Patterson
This looks good enough for me .Give or take one or two changes .I have Holyfield in top ten so I'll slot Joe Frazier in there at 12
11 Langford 12 Dempsey 13 Marciano 14 Frazier 15 Charles 16 Walcott 17 Holyfield 18 Lewis 19 Tyson 20 Wills
My top 10 1 Louis 2 Ali 3 Holmes 4 Foreman 5 Cooney 6 Bruno 7 Morrison 8 Young 9 Tua 10 Wladimir Klitschko
