Joe Louis fought every man who held the heavyweight championship (other than himself) from 1930 to 1955. He also fought BBBC world titleholder Lee Savold and interim champion Jimmy Bivins. In addition he fought Light Heavyweight champions John Henry Lewis and Billy Conn. Not to mention a whole slew of top 10 contenders.

As youngsters say, don't hate the participants, hate the ruleset.

True, Joe Grim was not a heavyweight himself, fighting mostly as a welter or middleweight. Evidently I was thinking more of the heavyweights he faced, men like Maher, Fitz, Jack Johnson, McVea, Al Kaufman, Luther McCarty. A pity he was allowed to take part in such 'contests.'

Scrapiron Johnson deserves a mention. His list includes:
    Joe Frazier
    George Foreman
    Sonny Liston
    Jerry Quarry X2
    Eddie Machen
    Duane Bobick
    Joe Bugner
    Thad Spencer
    Scott LeDoux
    Ron Lyle.

I could also throw in Roy Rogers. . . but he is not that Roy Rogers.

    Evander Holyfield has so many.

Also the incredibly underrated Tommy Gibbons, who has:

    Jack Dempsey
    Gene Tunney
    Harry Greb x 4
    Billy Miske x 5
    Georges Carpentier
    Kid Norfolk
    Battling Levinsky

If you include fighting the same guy multiple times (and considering one of them was Harry Greb)
