This content is protected You can see in this vid floyd was always terrified of Margo, he soiled his pants at the mere presence of Margo, he didn't want to be anywhere near him, let alone fight him in the ring.
Floyd knew he'd have his work cut out for him. Even if Floyd won, which he would be favored to, he would probably not look good in the process. Floyd took the easier guys at WW at the time.
Yes Margo was an unstoppable ATG and certainly not the concrete fisted weight bully I remember. ****. That. Guy.
margo was complete bad match up for Floyd Margo would be walking Floyd down with that 20 ib weight advantage Margo was eating 10000 hard pac shots and still came forward Floyd little taps would do nothing Margo is bigger stronger and has more stamina then Castillo and maidana and look what happened there
I've never heard of Margo? I've heard of Anphonio Margacheato, but I doubt they're the same person! Lol
The only guy he ever truly ducked is Margarito. The 'Floyd ducked Cotto' myth is quite antithetical to reality, however, and even Cotto admitted as much after leaving Top Rank. Anybody who closely followed the sport back then could tell you that Bob was keeping Cotto well away from Floyd when the latter was still with the company, and already had Cotto's 2008 mapped out for him when the industry was clamoring for Mayweather-Cotto. A fight would've had to have first been on the table for Floyd to duck it, and it never was.
I'd expect Floyd to emerge with the W, but I think that particular matchup provides him with the most physically gruelling assignment of his career. They chose to work around that fight even prior to the 2006 offer (Floyd accepted HBO's offer of a Mitchell fight in fall 2005 when Bob was offering a Margarito bout), and that's not for no good reason. They had Oscar in their sights, and Margarito was a real threat to all that.
And in the end, Floyd chose to face quite possibly the worst lineal champion of all time, in Baldomir. For $1 more. And then got booed while people left early. Floyd got his belt versus an easy opponent. All that matters to him.
