Holyfields victory over Bowe was razor close, even disputed, whereas the Tyson victories were emphatic. On the other hand Tyson was past prime while Bowe was in his (brief) prime. Then again, Tyson has a higher standing historically so I would say that is probably the answer. Bowe = taller order, harder fight, better win. Tyson = Holyfields legacy defining fight, more important win.
Out of them all I would say the Tyson fight ,that was the one that gained him the most respect It was Holyfield s rumble in the jungle moment , beating the big bad monster .
96 Tyson was not even close to the 74 foreman. In the 90s tyson was no the man anymore and evander always lived to the shadow of his losses with riddick bowe.he could bEat 5 tysons still he lost against bowe
Look at u Fergy, frothing at the gash to call Tyson a 'big, bad monster'! U just love the big bad tyson
In agreement there regarding beating bowe .To me personally ,beating bowe n the rematch proved a lot .That he really could handle the big talented heavy s ,not just the older guys like Foreman and Holmes. The Tyson win though really put holy s name in lights .A win over Tyson gave him respect that I think was missing .in hindsight perhaps Holyfield always bests Tyson but before they fought the real deal was seen as finished .As was Ali losing to Frazier and Norton . To boxing fans , beating Riddick was a great achievement but to the general public ,Tyson was the biggest win .
