Pac hasn't fought someone his own size since in over 10 years. Interesting against Loma.

The last 3 fighters Pacquiao fought his own size were 3K battery, Marco Antonio Barrera and Emmanuel Lucero. Two of those fights ended on a 1 punch KO. The other was probably the greatest performance of that era ending in TKO11.

Yea Pac is 39, but the thing is we haven't seen him fight a man his own size since 2004. For those of you who remember Pacquiao is an extremely hard puncher p4p. Who was actually a legitimate and huge banger against men his own size.

That was a long time ago and clearly Pac isn't even half of what he was. But if he catches Lomachenko then all bets are off. He probably won't land anything due to Loma's skill and youth. But I'm just saying if Manny drops that left hand in there it's gonna hurt. Loma isn't bigger than Manny and nobody Pac's size has ever reacted well to a Manny left hand.

This is what I have been trying to say. However, all of the naysayers immediately label this "Pacquiao fanboy delusion".

First and foremost, yes I think Loma wins a UD. But you have to factor in a few things:
    1) He will be fighting at a new weight.
    2) He will be fighting someone with 7x the professional experience.
    3) Pacquiao is better than anyone Loma has faced (even at his age).
    4) Pacquiao will be at a weight he is probably better at. But I concede that may also not be true.
    5) Pacquiao has seen every style, essentially.

Pacquiao is still a very good fighter. He still has pop and speed, just not what it was 5 years ago. Loma will be in for a tough fight. I can see Pacquiao fading down the stretch, while the first 8 rounds are split evenly. Loma will have to outwork Pacquiao, but I don't really see Manny being hurt. The only guy we have seen hurt Pacquiao at a higher weight is Marquez. He still has a good chin and made a career of fighting way bigger guys. I am shocked people think Pacquiao is going to get steamrolled here. Loma is the real deal, but Pacquiao is still a very good fighter. I thought he beat Horn and yes Horn is limited, but he is also considerably bigger. We watched Pacquiao dominate Bradley and Vargas before that.

I agree with a lot of this. I think you're giving the recent Pacquiao a little too much credit at WW. But I agree that he's still semi dangerous. Do I want to see him in the ring with anybody as good, young and big as Spence, Thurman or Crawford? No that would be a disaster for Pacquiao. His days of dominating much bigger men are over.

But here's the thing. Loma is not bigger than Pac. They are roughly the same size.

We have not seen Pacquiao in the ring against a man his own size in almost 15 years. That's a long ass time. We have no idea how much he really has left because he's constantly trying to ward off a much bigger and more powerful guy and has been doing that now for over a decade.

I'm loving it. Lomachenko is a relatively featherfisted guy that will come at Pac and apply pressure, which will be to his own detriment. Pac's blocked punches will hurt, or give Loma reason to be concerned. I want NO EXCUSES when Pac KOs him. People are already forgetting that Pac almost got a 165+ pound Horn out of there.

Marquez is the same size as Pacquiao to be fair.

i dont think pac can make 135 anymore. a catchweight of 137.5 is about midway between where theyve currently been fighting. it would be huge.

Were. III and IV versions were significantly more muscular than Pac.

Pac has to flex to show his muscles. JMM is in permanent 8 pack mode without having to flex.

We don't know Floyd's real size. He refuses to get on the scales for certain fights. And then there's the saline abuse. JMM said Floyd was over 160 in their fight. Floyd tossed Mosley, himself a big welter, around in the clinches like a rag doll.

I thought about including him. He's similar in size. But Marquez's 5'7" height and much wider clavicles were a deciding factor in their size difference. He almost steamrolled him in round 1, but Marquez's skill and size were deciding factors. Marquez at the time of their first fight was the biggest man that Pacquiao had fought. But he's certainly not anywhere near as big as guys like Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Algieri, Mayweather, Hatton or any of those giants that Pacquiao would later fight.

Not in that final fight lol. I'm not derailing this thread but he was considerably more muscular for that 4th fight.

What are you talking about? Pac and Marquez were much smaller than him.

I doubt Pac has the footspeed at his advanced age that would be necessary for him to be competitive.

Wonder how Pacquiao can deal with that i am hitting you with petty pat shoe shine punches and

occasional hard shots confusing style that Loma brings to the table?

Pac will walk through Loma's paint combos to land his own.
