It's not official yet but various media outlets are reporting it.

Can't say I disagree with the decision. He's been sitting on the belt like an egg... Ferguson would have been an easy fight for him, so not sure why he didn't just step up to the plate and take it... Khabib? Yeah now that's a different story - terrible matchup for McGregor.

I get the impression he doesn't have the desire for fighting anymore, that and not wanting to give up 80% plus of his earning potential to uncle Fester.

Fergusson isn't difficult to hit and likes to trade quite a bit. That's a bad recipe vs Mcgregor.

Calling Ferguson "an easy fight" is preposterous

If Tony makes it a stand up war, then yep Conor could knock him out

But if he doesnt Conor is screwed

Tony has x14 more ways to win than Conor

McGregor's next fight will be against a boxer if he has another fight, then he will retire if he isn't set to do so already !

Styles make fights. Ferguson gets hurt in practically every fight he's in(often against far inferior strikers than McGregor) that's a recipe for disaster against McGregor. Now... if he can get to the 3rd or 4th round? McGregors in trouble. Easier said then done. If McGregor hurts him it's likely over.

I wouldn't say Tony is an ''easy fight'' more like an ''easier'' fight than Khabib stylistically. I do feel McGregor needs to drop the flashy lifestyle and get focused to work on his cardiovascular and ground game more.

I think he may be taking the ''Mayweather route'' and retire for awhile then make a dramatic comeback. I think he's trying to get some sort of leverage with his promotional company to earn more money.

Conor couldn't finished Nate in 2 fights/7rds and Tony is more well rounded/better skilled/ and tough as NAILS. I would heavily favour both Tony and Khabib over Conor.

The UFC had better strip Conor though. This makes Conor look really bad but I suppose his casual fanbase will just lap it up when he inevitably returns later in the year and calls himself the champ.

I wanted Conor to defend and lose the belt that way he can't continue with the BS line "I was never beaten for the title so I'm still the champ".

    F#CK McGregor.

I hope this happens, I really do. Losing Bisping and McGregor as champs means there's no more divas out there.

    Love it.
