The last 13 years of Roy’s career have greatly diminished how fans view him. That said, I truly believe Roy is an ATG. He’s a stylistic puzzle for other ATGs. Not saying they couldn’t solve him, but he’d have his share of success along the way.

Imagine how popular he’d be if his prime coincided with social media. He was truly amazing. To anyone who disagrees, Roy’s right “y’all must’ve forgot.”

Top 10 P4P is a difficult status to obtain. I don’t believe any of the fighters we’ve seen in the last 20 years come close to qualifying for the following reasons:

1. They don’t fight enough.
2. The promoters protect their fighters from other promoters’ fighters.
3. The best don’t fight the best.
4. They don’t fight 15 rounds. This has a significant impact on the outcome of fights. Imagine how different things would be without Louis KO13 Conn, Marciano KO13 Walcott, and Leonard KO14 Hearns.

couldn’t beat me. A couple days before I was sparring against
a guy named Young Joe Louis. This guy was doing a lot of
talking bad about me. I heard this from my sparring partners.
So I chose him to spar against first because I was gonna put
him down. I was hitting him real good when I heard a pop in my
hand When I went back to the corner I knew I had hurt it bad.
The doctor said I had a small hand fracture. They said I would
need therapy and to not use it for ten days. I had to fight Tyson
in less than that. I went in determined though. I was very
apprehensive to attack Tyson due to the hand. I hit him with a
right uppercut early and my hand just shattered. It was the
worst pain ever. I still went on though, that’s why I did all those
antics and everything. I was supposed to beat this guy, but
how could I with one hand. With two hands I would have
knocked Mike Tyson out.

No. Despite coming off high ratings and beating Hopkins cleanly in the rematch, Chad got something like 30% of the money to fight at Ward's weight, in Ward's hometown.

If that sounds negligent of his team, that's because it was.

It's also worth noting that James Prince was on both sides of the fence, managing Ward while still having an ownership interest in Dawson.

 

A fighter has a team to protect him- this isn't WWE where TV callouts count for anything.

As mentioned in my post above, his team didn't look out for him in any fashion for that fight. They screwed him over because they figured it was better business to turn it into a showcase for Andre.
