Pavlik's defense is pretty open, and he doesn't seem to move a lot. He's taller than GGG, he's also pretty slim. I feel like GGG just pressures him to the ropes and pounds him with body shots cause of his slim build. GGG's chin will take everything pavlik throws at him, and he will do his usual high guard as soon as he sees punches coming so they do little to no damage. I think pavlik will be in the fight for 6 rounds, but then golovkin will take control. Pavlik's chin is decent, but nothing special. I think he just about survives the 12 rounds. But it's a wide decision for Golovkin, for sure. 9 rounds to 3 or 10 rounds to 2 for Golovkin I think.

There is a recent thread about this fight already but this current thread is different since it pertains to Pavlik and GGG taking part in an ass fight.

    GGG wins in either scenario.

No. Ask Edison Miranda how well the "high guard" worked out for him. A true power puncher hammers right through it (and thats why nobody attempts a 'high guard' defense against GGG).

Pavlik feasted on shorter guys and GGG is giving up 3.5inches in this fight. It's incredibly difficult to push a taller man to the ropes if he has a ram-rod jab like Pavlik did. GGG backs people to the ropes with his jab (which is world class), but Pavlik's jab was much longer and hit just as hard. Equally effective.

The KO is 50/50 in this fight. The cards yield a slight edge to GGG i think. He's a very smart boxer - but he's giving up the advantages of height and reach and they are equal in speed.

For boxing fans it's a dream bout, but I do think GGG would win. GGG has the better chin

Pavlik went toe to toe with a prime Miranda who at middle was a huge puncher so don't think golovkin knocks him out but he will probably win a ud

Miranda isn't half the fighter GGG is. I think Pavlik is a hit or miss fighter and he could be losing then suddenly land a big punch late on and get the w. I just don't think he's got the boxing ability to match and beat a Golovkin.

I usually pick GGG in these threads, but I re-watched Pavlik-Miranda and the highlights of his first fight with Taylor last night and it reminded me of what a brutal fighter Kelly was.

In the Miranda fight he absolutely refused to take a step backwards. He took everything Miranda had and dished out a whole lot more. The pop on his punches was immense. You could hear the shots thudding against the sides of his opponents heads.

In the Taylor fight he looked to be one good punch from being finished after that knockdown. The kind of grit and determination it took for him to survive, settle in, and turn the tide of that fight puts him in a special category as a fighter.

Even though GGG is a more versatile fighter than Kelly ever was, Kelly's size, strength, and heart would make him the biggest threat to Golovkin in terms of getting hurt or knocked out. It's a shame we will never see the fight, especially considering the fact that these guys are actually the same age.
