Hearn wanted Kell to move up after the GGG fight but a lot of the black supremacists on youtube were saying Kell was ducking Spence and didn't want to look bad by vacating the title so he took it.

I think his management care it's just Kell didn't want to look like a pu$$y in ducking Spence.

Eddie Hearn in the first place should not have offered or refused Kell to take the GGG fight but it's all about the monies and the money lost if he cancelled or couldn't find a replacement opponent for Golovkin.

if he continues he shouldnt be with matchroom, its like he is suffering from Stockholm syndrome or something.

"we just offered it to him, kell was the one what said yes"

what a disgusting cop-out. after all those prime years with nothing happening for him... here, now you need to make up for it all in one fell swoop with this total mismatch.

this is such a horrendous post to read, because its basically bang on the money. that is the thought process going on right now. cynical.

if this fight goes ahead we should all boycott/stream it and paypall each fighter a tenner each.

Since Brook beat Porter his career has been a disaster let’s be honest. He was fed to the dogs with GGG. Very talented fighter and it’s a shame how it’s gone for him.

I’m sorry you can say all you want it was Brooks decisions to fight GGG but that was unbelievably irresponsible of Hearn to set that match up. It’s a fighters instinct to want to fight anyone. That fight should never have been a consideration.

Good point. Brook would have comfortably beat Broner, Berto and Granados too. Before his eye injury Thurman would have been very competitive. They're the fights he should have had.

I personally believe Brook is done, I believe he is mentally very fragile now.

Brook would have beaten Spence had his eye not gone IMO.
Spence is very good but he’s overhyped and I expect Peterson to give him a tough fight. Golovkin ruined Brook. Literally smashed his face in. Absolutely unnecessary to fight him.

Kell's career after Porter was just a perfect storm of bull****.

Getting stabbed in the leg, chasing Khan, wasting time on Gavin, Dan, Bizier... it was a car crash even before the ill-fated decision to fight triple G.

Triple G destroyed him along with any hopes of proving himself elite level. Even though the Khan fight is now a sham as a top level fight, at least it's a real grudge match.

Yeah I wouldn't disagree with you there. Thurman is an anomaly for me, Danny Garcia as well, I just don't rate either of them particularly highly and I think it's kind of silly that I don't rate two fighters who were / are consensus no.1 at Welterweight.

Garcia in particular, he has nothing particularly outstanding to his game. He looked great against Mattysse but that's the only time I've been impressed. I think Brook would have done a number on him. Thurman's speed and movement would have made it more competitive for me, but i think Brook is the more skilful fighter.

I don't rate Garcia at all but on paper his records levels above Brooks and Thurman is decent but his not what he was being hyped up to be and the Porter fight could have gone either way I mean the best names hearn could've got over was charvez but the fight did happen and hearn could've easily sent him to the states but nothing I could be wrong but I sure it was hearn keeping him at home keep saying he would get a big fight

I agree mate. It’s such a fine line...he very nearly beat Spence and instead he suffers an awful injury and now it’s retirement talk. I think it’s just where his confidence is at the moment. It all hinges on this fight with Rabchenko. If he looks and feels good then we’ll see a couple more years from Kell. At the moment though, Liam Smith beats him, no shadow of a doubt in my mind.

Let’s get one thing straight. It’s not his management team don’t care.

Eddie Hearn did not put a gun to Brook’s head and force him in that ring. Kel Brook was the champion but couldn’t get any big money fights. He VOLUNTEERED himself for the GGG fight knowing he probably would lose but would earn more in that one fight than his whole career to that date, with the added bonus of still coming out champion regardless. He then had a mandatory against Spence and instead of giving his belt up he put it on the line which was a terrible decision coming off that loss but again you’ve got to admire him for wanting to defend his honour.

Liam Smith - had no reason to fight Canelo. He was champion, unbeaten record, Canelo werent his mandatory. So why did he do it? Pay day. The money is what feeds his family not the belt.

Tony Bellew - I know he’s hated on here but he’s simply not a heavyweight. He’s stepped up a division against one of Britain’s ATG boxers. Again he was the WBC cruiserweight champion. He had no reason to step up and fight a heavyweight. He called for it and called for it and called for it. One reason. The pay day.

David Haye - do you think he’s back in this game so he can go to bed holding his belt? Or because his bank balance is running low.

Every fighter is in it for the money. It’s a job. Kel Brook chased the money and it broke him. Look at the likes of Buglioni who was offered Kovalev and said no. Eddie Hearn didn’t force him in the ring. Didn’t kick him out the matchroom stable for not taking it.

Kel Brook had a choice and he chose the money.

His recent interviews have been worrying tbh.....personally i dont think it was the ggg fight that ruined his career,i think Spence beating him in Sheffield has killed his ego....would not surprise me to see more losses before he quits.

Bad luck and awful management/matchmaking have ruined what id consider one of UKs top boxers of a generation
