Considering he's 38 in Cuban years? (So lets face it, he's probably at least 40)

So he's not much younger than Wlad, if any.....
He hasn't got any impressive wins.....
    He's relatively inactive.....

Will a Wilder win be described as nothing more than 'beating an old man', just like Joshua v Wlad?

Ortiz would be far and away Wilder's best scalp and he will deserve serious respect whether he manages to get it done in the ring or not. Ortiz' resume may be lacking but he is the bogeyman at heavyweight for a reason. Hearn and Joshua don't seem in any hurry to pursue Ortiz.

Parker is far more proven as a reigning WBO champion but Wilder/Ortiz is a 50/50 match-up whereas Joshua/Parker is all AJ with Joe having a punchers chance. Deontay has taken on a real risk against The Real King Kong, if it goes through he will have demonstrated his willingness to face the best and truly test himself…finally.

In reality, Ortiz is a bum. But on this site, 95% of the posters have no boxing knowledge beyond 2016, so here he’s a good win.

I'd give him credit if he stops him in style. I'd class it as his best win even if he scrapes through with a UD

It would be his best win and a top 10 opponent. So yes.
What the real shame is, is that Wilder and his team have already set the bar so low, that people will be acting as if Wilder conquered the world if he wins this fight.
Hopefully the match happens I'm still not certain

Not exactly an amazing win is it? The last time Ortiz impressed anyone was against Tony Thompson 2 years ago.

Easy yes, it would be a very good win for Wilder should he beat Ortiz. I dont hear many fighters calling out Luis Ortiz who is a good boxer/puncher southpaw.

However, if Wilder knocks out Ortiz as easily as he did Stiverne, others might say that Ortiz wasnt that good in the first place.

Well Wilder's best win so far is against fatty boy Stiverne. So despite being old enough to remember the Cuban missile crisis yeah a win over Ortiz would be Wilder's best to date. But I think Granpa is going to give him a boxing lesson and a beat down.
