Loma is p4p #2 IMO

But his 2017 was very meh

Mariaga-was coming off a loss & had to move up

Sosa- top 10 130 but very average boxer. Decent win at best

Rigo- because of weight difference, I will again say good but not great win

2018 my hopes are he can fight Berchelt, then Beltran, & hopefully winner of Mikey/Linares IF Bob decides to work with other promoters

This. Loma's talent is undeniable, but his competition in 2017 were all cherry picks. If he moves up he should take Easter up on his challenge and liberate the IBF belt and try to unify 135 or unify at his current division.

I don't have a problem with Loma getting the award, I thought Crawford and rungvisai deserved it as well.
Loma had 3 good solid wins, while the other have one or two. So it's a case of quantity over quality (maybe).
Personally I would have picked Rungvisai. Went tooth and nail with p4p in Gonzales in their first fight and completely destroyed him in the return match.

Why not? You can't fault him for taking that fight with Rigo. It's what the fans wanted.

I wanted that fight. Even McGregor called him out for it, and you seen what Mayweather did to him???

But you have to remember that even though Rigo hasn't fought anyone in years and is older, he is still one of the PFP greats and I think Loma outclassed him, which says a lot, even if Rigo lost a step and was smaller as well.

I think Loma is a great fighter and I think it's good to emulate his footwork. Everyone can pick who they think is the best out of the two, I but I think it's hard to argue that the best fighters in the sport are Crawford and Loma.

 

Remember all the videos Picking Rigo to knock Lomachenko out?! Rigo fans were claiming that Lomachenko did not have a chance vs. Rigo, including Danny Garcia, Angel Garcia, etc., the fans demanded that fight..................Dante's video's were picking Rigo, etc.
