Frazier batters him into submission. Jeffries will be lucky to land cleanly on Fraziers excellent head movement. Frazier will be one step ahead in every department until the ref stops the fight.

Anytime this topic ever came up I always say the same thing, if you have seen Frazier-Chuvalo, then you know how the fight would turn out. I've always felt Jeff was an archaic version of George.

Has anyone considered Jeffries' right to the breadbasket? His gumption? His grit?

I think Jeffries had a bit more in the way of power than Chuvalo. The problem for Jeff here is he relied on wearing down his opponents,could he do that over 15rds? Jeffries said he found Tom Sharkey very hard to fight because he was ,"all over you never giving you a chance to get set." Frazier would be that squared ,plus he was 20 lbs heavier than Tom, much harder to hit cleanly and, according to the contemporary accounts of Sailor Tom, a lot more polished defensively.At 205lbs Frazier would be the heaviest man of any ability Jeffries faced ,excluding his humiliation to Johnson.

 

Would probably look something similar to the Chuvalo fight, but more competitive.

I believe Chuvalo was around the same size as Jeffries and they both shared legendary chins, though I'd say Chuvalo's was far more proven, against much larger men.

Give Joe 15 rounds and someone who isn't going to move much, if any at all, without the legendary power necessary to stop Frazier dead in his tracks before he can get going... and I can't really see any other result than a Frazier TKO.
