Are there any fighters in history you think could beat a prime Roy Jones?

    Mclellan.

Roy was always fragile around the whiskers and an iron chinned monster puncher with the ferocity of a prime gerald would have finished him imo.

Calzaghe would have beaten Roid Jones!

Michalczewski would have beaten Roid Jones, HBO tried to get Jones to fight him, but Jones knew better!

    Griffin had proven he could.
Now you could say he cheated by pulling a Dirrell, but basically prime RJJ cheated just as much. Griffin just cheated more effectively that night, you gotta respect that.
And a couple of the prime heavy hitters could have landed on him as well.

I think Ward could have. It would be ugly as all hell but he has the tools.

Ward would have gone close but failed. The only person I can think of that could have beaten a prime roy jones at middleweight was Sugar Ray Leonard but he would have had to be at his best and even then I think it would be his toughest fight.

Don't think he would have had the time to grab hold of Jones, who's too quick and mobile. Also, the judges wouldn't favor him against superstar RJJ, certainly not with all the point deductions he would receive.

An outside shout, but how about Billy Joe Saunders? I'd say Billy Joe is the Mayweather Jr of middleweight. Billy Joe has just as good movement and footwork as Roy. And you could argue that Billy Joe is the better boxer of the two. He has a good enough chin from what we have seen so far, although it's early to judge, needs to be in with GGG first. Really, Roy only has an advantage in hand speed and possibly stamina. Everywhere else, Billy Joe is equal if not better than Roy. I'd favour Billy Joe to win a close points decision.
