I didn't like the fact that Norris and his manager accused Simon Brown of basically running out on the fight out of fear of Terry Norris. Terry had been on a good knockout run leading up to that fight and he started thinking he was Mike Tyson. Brown had been an exceptional Welterweight Champion defending his title successfully many times.

Just keeping it in the past several years, Kiko Martinez, Jhonny Gonzalez and Antonio Demarco are all fighters that were parts of some of the better upsets of the past several years.

    Gonzalez against Mares
Martinez against Hasegawa, Romero, and Dunne.
Demarco against Jorge Linares and just a few months ago prospect Eddie Ramirez.

    Mosley - Margarito

Sugar Shane was written off beforehand and was seen as washed up. Margo on the other hand had destroyed Cotto and was expected to do much the same here. Mosley ripped up and re-wrote the script….taking the Tijuana Tornado apart in emphatic fashion. :boxing1

Plus Shane got the Mayweather fight off the back of this performance and gave us hope, even if for just a couple of fleeting moments, that we would finally see Floyd humbled and brutally starched. Oh well….

    Holyfield - Tyson.

The bar at my university was showing the fight. What was interesting was the way everyone seemed to be there to see Tyson the destroyer, as he'd almost reclaimed his aura of invincibility based on his comeback wins over Bruno and Bruce Seldon. I remember that in a pre-fight poll amongst 50 journalists, 48 went for Tyson and only 2 for Holyfield.

I'll never forget the look of confidence on Holyfield's face before the fight. I thought it was misplaced and as a Holyfield fan, was concerned for him. But as the fight progressed and it became clear that Holy was not only competitive but actually winning, everyone who was watching stopped waiting for a Tyson KO and started cheering Holyfield. And when the stoppage came, there was a huge roar from everyone.

Never have I been so pleased to be proven wrong by a fighter.

I should have mentioned this one in my lot as well. This was a hugely dramatic fight imo and watching Holyfield slowly but surely beat down Tyson was crazy impressive.

Had to be Ali over both Liston and foreman.

Followed by foreman/moorer for me. Just a great story all in. George who pretty much had retired in disgrace years earlier. Does nothing for years before coming back to being laughed at and seen as a bit of a joke figure. He didn't let it get to him tho kept going till he pretty much done the impossible. Really did cement his legacy as well. Without that second career...George would have been seen as a failure in pretty much the same way Liston's looked at now by a lot of people even though both we,re pretty formidable in their primes.

All three fights had the same running theme for me...nothings impossible.

Even if you are an overweight 46 years old.

Who was the favorite in the Tito vs Hopkins fight? (Hopkins stomping on the PR flag)
Plus Sanchez k.o.ing Gomez in the Battle of the Little Giants is a great fight.

    3 come to mind for me;

    Holyfield - Tyson.
Honeyghan - Curry (& I actually called this at the time).
But my favourite is Norton - Ali 1.
