Are there any fighters in history you think could beat a prime Roy Jones?

I said that and Mr. Invader seemed to think it was an insult to suggest he had even a punchers chance against Roy. Shows you just how much some people buy into the idea of him being unbeatable at 160.

You,d need to go back years to get someone good enough to do it for me. Benn, eubank, calzaghe mclellan etc...I m British but even then these guys wouldn,t have the tools for it.

Always got that chance cause it is boxing afterall...would have been good fights if they we,re made and they should have been but I,d favour Roy at his best against anyone anywhere near his time. Always that one guy that could cause the upset...like the boy that did...can't remember his name. Roy knocked him out in the first round in the rematch. But going in I,d favour the best version of Roy against pretty much anyone...although pretty much all the guys you mentioned we,re a little bit before my time. Not seen enough of them tbh.

There is ways to neutralize speed agree with you. But it becomes harder to nuetralise when its not just say hand speed. His foot speed matched it. His speed of thought also matched it. He was in and out before guys had time to think about nuetralising it. For me anyway he was head and shoulders above the competition.

Joe possessed the skill, but not the will.

Ray was a better fighter P4P, but H2H, Roy would have been too big for him.

If you designed Roy's nemesis on paper, it would look like this:

    A southpaw, who:

    Was tall

    Had a long reach

    Was fast

    Had great reflexes

    Had a great chin

    Had a great engine

    Had great power

    Had great confidence

Joe ticks many of those boxes. But he was always easy enough to tag, and he didn't have the will/confidence that would have been required to have beaten him.

I think Nigel is probably the only guy who'd have gone at Roy looking for a shootout.

He would have been very dangerous.

Personally, I would have given him a 4-5 round window. After that, Roy would have scored a TKO.

    Good call.

Theoretically speaking, there'd be a big list.
