Are there any fighters in history you think could beat a prime Roy Jones?

So just a question.. You think a prime Jones would've beaten Calzaghe then? I defintely think he couldve but I think Joe wouldve always been a problem stylistically for Roy. Big fan of both though! Wish the fight wouldve been when Roy was at his best!

Joe would never have fought Roy at his peak. He knew how dangerous he was.

I watched Joe's entire career. I know how he handled his career. I know what his main goal was. I know that he wasn't overly ambitious and he had confidence issues. I know how he carried himself. I know what he wrote in his autobiography and what he said in numerous interviews with the media etc. I know who he was and wasn't willing to fight.

For the benefit of the thread, I think if they had've fought, Joe would have fought in an ultra cautious manner that we'd never seen before. Because he'd have been fighting a guy who was faster and more powerful than what he was, who he had great admiration for. I think it would have been a game of chess with lots of feints etc. Only a fool would believe that Joe would have gone and unloaded volume on him. If he'd have fought Roy in that manner, he'd have found himself in a shootout with Roy. And that would have been suicude. In my honest opinion, the only guy who'd have been crazy enough to have employed those tactics would have been Nigel Benn. The way to have beaten Roy would have been to have employed educated pressure or to catch him with something huge. Again, after watching Joes career unfold, I honestly can't see him replicating Tarver's performance where he really pressed him with confidence. Joe didn't believe in himself as much as he should have done. He didn't take big risks. So regarding the outcome, I think that if Joe had've pressed him hard and unloaded volume, he'd have been stopped. But if not, then I think Roy would have won a pretty boring U/D.

Hearing these responses on the general forum is hilarious.

Firstly, let me say.... I'm one of the biggest Roy fans alive... and at 168... no, I don't think anybody in history beats him.

But at 175... Roy losses to Ezzard Charles, Michael Spinks, and Bob Foster.

I did boxing training for a while but I doubt I'd beat even the shell of Jones that is competing right now.

What a cowardly act from Loudon.

Why didnt you answer my question? Unable to look at things without bias? Cant spin things how you want them to be?

Now I will repeat the question and we will see if you duck the question a second time

What better LHWs do you feel Jones beat that were better than Tarver and G Johnson.
Fighters who I wouldnt favour to beat Michalczewski, Calzaghe, Erdei, Benn, Rocchigiani, Maske, Eubank, Ottke

Ottke beat prime G Johnson who went on to beat Jones

    WTF???
Benn fought in America on a few occasions.

Did Jones go to face the champ Michalczewski?
What did Hopkins do when one of the top European fighters said they would face him in America?
