I did watch the fight again. I already posted a clear video of a low blow.
The red K logo on Kovalevs shorts was on the waistband, Wards punch was BELOW the waistband. It landed on the HUBLOT lettering. Illegal.

 

A side question:

Why did Andre Ward with no prior history of bacne all of a sudden develop a substantial case of bacne at age 32?

i think at worst he hit him in the pubic bone. It wasn't an actual goolie punch, unless kovalow is some kind of hulking mutant choirboy with his bals still up in his bones.

Its true that a ref could interpret that as low, since it was borderline. But it was no goolie punch.
Also, did wad go as low as possible intentionally to hurt the pubic bone? maybe so. intent is half the crime.

Kovaleow will probably prove me wrong now with a surprise inclusion singing Me o canto in the Easter Choir. Watch out Grossberger.
