Roy Jones Jr vs Anderson Silva by the end of the year could happen. Was talked about years ago but not sure there would be a lot of interest now but UFC/WME getting in to the boxing game could be a good thing imo.
Yeah I like the idea also, Bellator has been doing MMA and kickboxing cards for a couple years along with Japan with some success
Dutch as well!! At least 15 years. Mostly kickboxing and mma though. But the odd boxing match thrown in.
roy could have some success if he fought the ufc guys who are around 200 in semi kickboxing rules (no takedowns or grappling and no headkicks). they are all absolute **** at stand up and those small gloves mean roy'd 1 punch most of them.
About 5 years ago kickboxing legend John Wayne Parr started up an annual mma style caged kickboxing event which I thought may have taken off more then it has. It would be a good way to see ma6tch ups with good stand up mma fighters and boxers or even kickboxers.I dont think there is many mma fighters would do to well though other then being able to use the 1 advantage they would have in still being able to takedown there opponent. Boxing is the main sport I follow but am a longtime fan of mma and in general any quality stand up fighting.,I know that a lot of other mma fans dont like the constant holding on the ground or against the cage for long periods doing nothing that the referees seem to allow. Im not a fan of wrestling at all and dont rate the ability to wrestle somebody to the ground as highly as the judges do, but I recently tried BJJ which helped me appreciate quality grappling when its guys trying to submit or do damage to there opponent.
Roy with his athleticism and reflexes could have been just as good a kickboxer/Thaiboxer as he was a boxer. If not even better. I can imagine him scoring some real matrix style mid air KO kicks
