Yes, Usyk has a good chin. He was a little hurt in the 12th though.

Anyways, it was a great fight, as I knew, Briedis is no joke, he is like a skilled Lemeiux with more chin and desire as well but Usyk is also tough as hell as he is skilled, the final is going to be awesome and I expect Gassiev to beat Dorticos but that's a 60/40 fight for me like this one, the thing is that while Gassiev is not as skilled as Briedis, he sure is a harder puncher.
Also, I read that Papachenko was going to work with Usyk since his last fight, what happened with that?.

 

I forgot all about the Diamond Boy finally fulfilling his destiny and getting that belt lol

 

Gassiev will not gas like breidis and probably a bigger puncher

Good fight!! I certainly didn't expect breidis to win any of the last 3 or 4 rounds. Truthfully didn't expect him to go 12 but what's interesting is I feel like if breidis had a different mentality(in ring) he might have pulled that fight off. Their were times in close rounds when breidis would catch him with something good and just go tit for tat the rest of the round. Easy for me to say but I feel like after a couple of those moments he should have tried to hustle and follow up on it, just a little more go for broke mentality he might have stole a couple of those close ones.

 

As i wrote before, he did not utilize his footwork good enough.

 

Breidis has been underrated his entire career.
Of the 4 best 200lb fighters, only Dorticos looks like an underdog in most objective opinions

 

That was a tremendous fight. Briedis really seemed to feed off the crowd in the early rounds

 

nope.. decent fight people are underrating dorticos..

 

I think it will be Gassiev as he has the better chin, but what I am sure of is that it's a great fight. I really can't wait

 

Weird as it sounds, when I see Briedis box a comp that came to mind was an offensively better version of Glen Johnson. Kind of upright, but a tough *******. Economical punching, but with pop. More effective with short shots than you'd think.

 

All in all, a great fight. Exciting with very good scoring.

Obviously way closer than anyone expected.

Briedis' stock rose, Usyk's fell (I'm sorry to say).

Usyk is very good, but he's no supersized Loma. I'm not so sure moving to heavy would be that great for him.

And taking on AJ? I don't rate AJ as highly as most, but I can't see Usyk having much of a shot against AJ. Usyk was certainly not enjoying shots from a 6'1", 200 lb guy. He's really not going to enjoy shots from a 6'6"+, 250 lb guy.
