Agreed Hamsho was not a top tier puncher but he hit hard enough to hurt he just mauled fighters like Benitez and Czyz just a solid 12 round beating. Like you said kind of a Fullmer type in many ways he just punished you with his head, elbows fist, strength

Terrific jaw. Got a real gift of a decision over Curtis Parker in their first fight. It was said that he had already had the contract signed to fight Hagler before that fight, which makes you think. I will say however, that he did deserve the decision over Parker in the rematch.

Without Maaarvin out there, HAMSHO is a longterm champion and instant HOFer, which he should be anyway.

I’m in the minority but I thought Minter beat him.

Tough, close fight where a judge's preference on what he sees in a bout shows through. I love pure boxing, sharp boxing and not necesarily the mauling style employed by Hamsho. But I can't deny its effectiveness in the trenches. For what it's worth, here is my score. Alan Minter vs. Mustafa Hamsho.

    Round 1: 10-9 Hamsho
    Round 2: 10-9 Minter
    Round 3: 10-9 Hamsho
    Round 4: 10-9 Hamsho
    Round 5: 10-9 Minter
    Round 6: 10-9 Minter
    Round 7: 10-10 Even
    Round 8: 10-9 Minter
    Round 9: 10-9 Hamsho
    Round 10: 10-9 Hamsho

    96-95 Hamsho

I picked Alan to win that too.

I was there when somebody asked Alan if he got the decision over Hamsho would he rematch Hagler? Alan answered “Hagler? You must be Fhack-in jokin”

I recall a post fight interview with him after Hamsho where the announcer, who had mentioned during the fight that Minter's losses were all stoppage losses, asked minter, "I'll bet your happy only losing this fight by decision rather than knockout." Minter just looked at him with this WTF look on his face. Yeah, I'd be real happy about losing a decision that I thought I won too.

A Syrian immigrant stowaway to America.
I guess he's on the list to be deported back.

Was a 160 lb strongman. Alan Minter said Hamsho was the strongest man
he faced and that includes Marvin Hagler and Tony Sibson.
