HBO: Lucas Martín Matthysse vs. Tewa Kiram & Jorge Linares vs. Mercito Gesta RBR.

Lucas was in against a huge ww with a difficult, ugly style, and Matthysse managed to knock him out anyway, the result's all that matters. Boxing is so much better with a pure puncher in Matthysse in the limelight again!

 

Wow, Kiram lost me 150 because he laid down. 9 ****ing seconds was all I needed.

 

Agreed, he's past his prime. There are still fights for him though. At the very least he can cash out.

 

Fix.... The biggest dive I've ever seen in a boxing ring.... Lucas was getting beaten the entire time and he throws a grazing shot to kiram face and he drops like he got shot.... With the legs kiram has, He shouldn't have even been fazed by that shot.... The second knockdown was atrocious and an insult to my intelligence. Booooooooooooooo

He wasn't hurt, he didn't take a beating, and he KO cold a much bigger man in his prime. Maybe not a world beater but clearly strong and young.

 

It's a strange ending really because the two shots that led to both knockdowns had been taken by Kiram on occasion, and it isn't like Matthysse was landing them enough it got to the point where Kiram had simply been ground down.

I wonder if being so tall, he's so severely weight drained that he just gasses and loses all punch resistance?

It's strange how long he was taking on those smelling salts in the corner, he looked like he fell asleep on top of them.

 

Yeah and I honestly wouldn't be shocked if Peterson'd one of the top guys. But obviously I favor Spence, Thurman, Porter, and Danny over him by a massive margin. Horn should beat him too but if Manny hurt him that badly, I could see Matthyse putting him out.
