Are there any fighters in history you think could beat a prime Roy Jones?

Harmon was a keep busy fight while Kerry Davis of HBO was trying to secure a fight with Dariusz.

    Whatever?

You don't even want a debate.

I wouldn't mind if you were knowledgeable of his career, but you aren't.

A keep busy fight sandwiched in between mandatories, later to be followed by fights against Ruiz and Tarver.

You're not doing very well here are you.

David Telesco was a guy who HBO wanted him to fight.

He was one of the possible contenders that were featured on the graphic which you spoke of earlier.

    Tarver is older?

    By about 6 weeks.

    Ha!

How about the fact that he didn't turn pro until 28, and he went into his fight with Roy having only had 23 fights, as opposed to the 49 that Roy had fought?

how on earth do you win all those titles and defend them by just facing bums. u cret. The only way yuo could do that is by defending a bum title.

Depends on the weight class I guess, if it was at middleweight prime GGG v RJJ would be an amazing fight...

Why was Roy not interested in facing Collins?
I would possibly have favoured all of them. Depends on situations also
With Ottke at SMW, I think that would be interesting. Ottke was a master mover

Right. So now we are getting there.
Look at how that version of Tarver was found out by G Johnson and Hopkins who had improved and grown into being a world class LHW.
So YOU dont think Roy beat a better LHW than Tarver. This is why I feel so many that I listed would have beaten Roy

Michalczewski was calling Roy out with full pages in one of the boxing magazines calling for that fight. I remember the call out adverts

Roy had a good first round when he hit Calzaghe with his wrist but other than that Calzaghe seemed to come on and beat Roy. That was end of career Calzaghe with bad hands and coming up in weight. I expect Calzaghe was hurt by the KD, but it wasnt like he was close to being stopped. He got up and was instantly throwing punches and not just looking to cover up.
Roy was back adapted to LHW when he fought Calzaghe.
The cut didnt have any impact on what was happening. Calzaghe was dominating that fight with bad hands

I can agree with most of that but lets not forget that Roy was an Olympian. I doubt Hopkins had the same amateur background.
It was early and I think Roy was more suited than Hopkins early on. As noted it wasnt like Hopkins at that time won a world title in his next attempt after.
What makes you draw that opinion. Calzaghe was far better than all of them. Calzaghe was faster, earlier in his career possibly harder punching, had greater stamina, better footwork and could be slick when it suited with faster hands.
Toney was having SDs/Close fights fairly often and in struggles. You are right in that you cant always be your best but look at Toneys fight after Jones!
When was Calzaghe ever stopped? Never amateur or pro.
Another poster on here doesnt think Roy faced a better LHW than Tarver. Roy didnt face SMWs as good as what Calzaghe faced.
I think it would be Calzaghe that would adapt and win.
I had that opinion when watching how Roy struggled when being walked back and hit and Calzaghe would push back and hit constantly
Griffin used a different style which is what I was pointing to. Griffin walked Jones back and I dont think Roy was doing well. I think had Griffin been doing more work whilst in close it would have been even tougher for Jones. Calzaghe would have done both and was bigger and stronger.
I recall seeing how when Woods was punching with Roy thinking Calzaghe would win
Collins I feel was a bit like Hopkins in that they got better with experience. At SMW I think Collins would have pushed Roy back. Calzaghe I think would have pushed him back and in combinations outsped Roy
