As it reads ..could Frazier ,starting off at the same age as Louis , when he faced Braddock make it a successful 25 and 0 ?
There's no Foreman in there but could someone derail the Frazier express ??

Same as Marciano thread, Frazier just wasnt a longevity fighter.

I would favor him over all if we are matching the best Frazier every bout but he often struggled with long term motivation.

Frazier will ultimately start cutting corners, lose interest, and drop fights. You didnt have to be Foreman or Ali to beat the poor efforts Frazier put in.

I see your point , but we only really have the Ali and Foreman losses on Frazier s record to go with .And they were two great fighter s , one of which Frazier had a win over .I get what your saying about Joe losing interest and cutting corners , but I don't see Joe losing until well in to his reign .Without sounding disrespectful, I can't see many of Louis s title Challenger's really pushing Frazier .But then again there's always a banana skin around.

Thats a logical fallacy though. Frazier didnt take any risks outside of Ali and Foreman when he started decling. His efforts in Foreman 1 & 2 and Ali 2, he may not lose as desicively, but hes beatable by lesser.

Frazier got pushed by Ron Stander in his own title reign. So some of the 25 will surely get his attention.

The guys that can bang and take punishment: Galento, Buddy, Nova, Simon.

Farr would be interesting, especially if Frazier doesnt show up in top form.

    And of course Walcott.

Who knows. I could see off night or out of shape Funk Band Era Frazier losing to any number of good fighters.

He could barely commit to a spacious controlled schedule of lesser competition after winning the title. You think hes going to match 25-0 against some crafty vets and dangerous punchers? Its not the match ups..its the schedule and Joe's lack of dedication.

    Yes he would falter.

    Too much competition, too soon.

Disagree. Frazier's 12th, 13th and 14th fights were Oscar Bonavena, a creaking Eddie Machen and Doug Jones. His 17th was George Chuvalo. Frazier was matched harder earlier.

I agree that Frazier was not a longevity fighter, I also think he had to be tortured while champion for his head to drop/turn. I think he'd keep it together until the title personally, within reason. Doesn't mean he'd go undefeated but yeah.

    Oh I see, I mis-read.

In that case, yeah, he's not doing it.

Joe would have to beat Schmeling, and M. Baer. With other former champions such as Carnera, and Sharkey, and a decent enough Levinsky.

Could he do it, yes. Would he? I think he drops one along the way.

Two ton Tony verses Frazier would be painful to watch .Can see Buddy going a few rounds before Joe drops him .
Maybe by the time Joe gets in to his fourth or fifth year he'll be getting to over confident ,slacking off training. That's when he's likely to hit trouble .But I don't see anyone doing a Foreman on him .More a Tyson v Douglas style loss .
