Yes, besides not being the same fighter he clearly wasn't even in the same shape either! He was 9 pound heavier than he was for Ali in 71 and looked soft.

In answer to the question ,I just don't see any version of Rocky beating Foreman .If he comes straight at him or tried working his ways in behind the jab , orwhatever angle he tries ,Marciano s going to come off worst .
I'm sorry ,but just don't see a way Marciano could defeat big George .
The only version of Foreman that I think Rock could beat , perhaps , is the old 93/97 one .

Frazier need not maintain the FOTC form to be considered still "prime". Ali was his "peak" performance, certainly his peak performance.

You got caught out a while back with the Frazier retire BS but you are still sprouting it. You haven't got the exhibition down pat either.

Frazier`s health was a factor in that light schedule. I`m not sure his team thought he could or should continue his career. The Ali fight took a toll on Joe physically. Perhaps on the fence between retiring and going on. He did take his foot off the gas a lttle too much.

He did better. It would have been hard to do worse. Frazier was having some success in middle of the ring with Foreman landing counter punches. He wasnt winning but he was competitive in those rounds.

How about the one who walked onto Ron Lyles punches?

George was probably easier to hit than Rocky was.

No I did Not. Don’t tell lies. Where is the BS?

There's an account of it here:

    https://news.google.com/newspapers?id=nYxLAAAAIBAJ&sjid=DiQNAAAAIBAJ&pg=7142,3126706

“Rumours had it Frazier would never fight again after the beating he took winning the fight”

“Frazier said he hoped the exhibition settled the question of his health”

Perhaps Rocky batters old 93/97 George.

Defending against 2 unranked nobodies is pissing on the title and any legacy you might wish to achieve.

But even then , whilst he's hurt and on the deck he still proved he was dangerous .Even if Rocky dropped Foreman , which I can't see, he could still come back to ko some body.

Sure, George truly was a force of nature. Big and game. I could not rule anything out. Like you say George was dangerous until the end. Even when near exhaustion.

He always got up unless he was gassed.

Frazier had clearly declined. He was unable to beat Ali again.

Is it so bad Joe was taking it easy? It was touch and go if he would resume his career.

They were worried Joe was running on empty. Frazier had already cleaned out the entire division ...there was only Ali left to fight anyway, who he already beat.

And in 1972 Ali was cleaning it out again for him. For all we know Frazier thought Foreman was a “warm up” for Ali.

I thought Foreman vs Frazier 2 was possibly even until the stoppage.

Frazier certainly won Round 4 and I feel he took 2 as well.

He just didnt have the stamina at that stage to keep up that much activity.

Did you say it's correct that people should favour Foreman?
