This is an incredibly hypothetical thread now, so people night not be that interested in it but I'll give it a shot anyway. Let's assume Jones had not cheated for his rematch with DC. Without that extra boost would he have been able to defeat DC? He obviously wasn't confident enough of doing so otherwise he wouldn't have used in the first place. So hypothetical 1) he doesn't cheat. Let's no assume he comes in clean, and DC does enough to edge out a decision over Jones. So hypothetical 2) clean Jones loses to clean DC in the rematch. Had DC beaten Jones in that rematch, would we be calling him the goat LHW? Or would we say Jones was to far past and his best and when they fought in their prime Jones won a clear victory?
I dont know how to do that break up quote thing so bear with me "Let's assume Jones had not cheated for his rematch with DC. Without that extra boost would he have been able to defeat DC?" No. Without cheating he could barely beat OSP let alone DC "Would we say Jones was too far past and his best and when they fought in their prime Jones won a clear victory?" Nevermind the first match - when they REMATCHED Jones was in his prime, DC was nearing 40 and a couple fights from retirement. Jones won a close but clear victory against old end of career DC while cheating "Had DC beaten Jones in that rematch, would we be calling him the goat LHW?" He already is
I had DC winning the first 2 rounds. Jones had never displayed striking power like that before in a fight.
This is without doubt, the question is was the boost enough that DC would have won were it not for the PEDS
It seems like youre still hurting over your the fact that 3 of your top 4 LHW of all time are drug cheats If Jones had beaten DC clean, he would clearly be the GOAT Such a shame he was too scared to even give it a go, eh?
They were enough for a vastly inferior boxer in Pacquiao to go toe to toe with Marquez for 2 fights, and enough for Canelo to survive GGG @Kevin Willis if you can be bothered, educate this poster on the ridiculous advantage PEDs give an fighter
Thanks for the mention but I get tired of repeating myself. My best recommendation would be for anyone who questions what PED's can do should try them and experience it first themselves.
I can try but I doubt anyone would care. Most have their minds made up and anything short of first hand experience does not change their minds.
Why would it hurt me that they're drug cheats? Of course it's a shame, it's a shame when any athlete turns to performance enhancing drugs
When did Pac and Canelo fail tests? That one is news to me. PEDS obviously give an advantage, otherwise why bother. But if I took PEDS I don't think I'd become the next ultimate fighting champion, so there is a line somewhere, I'm just wondering if the line is close enough that we should consider DC superior to Jones.
