rahman was shot, thats why I said 2 relevant HWs. By relevant I mean world class, Ruiz and Peter. With that choice, Peter gets the nod for sure over the sloppy hitting ruiz.
haha! if you can think of a more obvious example of a "muscleman".... aye Arnies the first one to jump to mind, everytime, its a 100% qualified post.
possibly could hit harder than trev if he could land anything ? Trev would brawl peter into submission in about seven rnds .Wouldn't be pretty!
Who cares, Peter sucks. Liston was clearly better functionally to land the harder blows. Who cares if Peter could or couldn't land a harder fairgrounds punch.
Chambers was beer bellied and over weight against Peter coming in at 223. Against Wlad he weighed an optimal 209. He said povetkin hit harder than Peter.
How is that debatable? Which of their fights make you question whether Peter hit much harder than Trevor Berbick?
Is that really how you measure punching power though? We've already been through all the obvious reasons why Peter did not have more kos against quality opponents. He lacked skill, stamina, speed, and accuracy. This one's a no-brainer if you watch their fights and observe the impact of their blows on their opponents, imo. Not even close. Peter knocked lesser opponents out cold and made plenty of other opponents adopt safety-first fight plans. Berbick was a high-pressure grinder who wore people down with pressure and mauling just as much as his actual punches (which were often arm punches).
