Stylewise I think Chisora and Joyce would really gel, be a barmstormer. Hearn has said if he can't get Povetkin for Price would like a fight such as Price v Chisora on AJs undercard. Why not get Joyce v Chisora on Haye v Bellew undercard be a popular fight.
Joyce-Price would be better IMO for the story. Haye's boy against Bellew's plumber. Would be a good appetiser to the main event.
Hayemaker are looking at more dates on Channel 5 (not sure what their deal with Cyclone is) so I have a feeling Joyce/Chisora could be made on that platform. Good fight although a risk for Joyce at this stage.
Agree problem with Price is simple if it goes beyond 5 rounds you feel he can't win a fight. With Joyce's engine I would strongly fancy him to win though Price has a chance early if he has confidence in his right handers (that's been gone in recent years too). I agree though good plot and these days the good plots sell better than the good fights lol
he might be average skill wise but his engine, heart, chin and aggression are better than most of the uk heavys
I thought Joyce looked absolutely abysmal against Lewison, looked incredibly slow and had no power in his punches at all. If a motivated version of Chisora turns up and the same Joyce is in there, then there's only 1 winner for me.
Not sure how an Olympic silver medalist can be considered bang average? And he was unlucky not to get gold... He didn’t have a great deal of variety and his hook was poor, but he’ll get to world level, whether or not he wins a world title... He’s tough and has a world class engine and work rate...Carl Froch did well with similar attributes, someone also dismissed as slow and ponderous... He’s potentially a better fighter than the likes of Joseph parker imo. The fact he’s willing to fight Chisora in his third fight tells you all you need to know about the confidence people have in his ability...
Joyce isn't great but it's his athleticism that makes him a threat. He quite probably, in terms of the overall package, has the best athletic qualities out of all the current HWs. He's slow and stiff but he moves well and he has a Cain Velazquez-tier cardiovascular endurance. Joyce beat the living day lights out of Lewison, after Lewison was given plenty of notice. It was a brutal, possibly career ending beating. Whyte fought a Lewison with very little notice and laboured early on before securing a stoppage induced by a broken nose. That was his debut. Gives you an indication where he is at already in comparison to Whyte and Chisora. Personally I think Joyce beats both easily, and I don't rate or particularly like watching Joyce.
Yes but if all the credible opponents turn it down and he needs to stay busy, then there is no choice. Unless they offer silly money to the likes of Chisora or Tom Little for a fight after they turned it down first time around. Joyce beats both of them, and they both know it.
The plan was never for this to be a big name opponent. This is just a tick over and obviously a big opponent will happen on the big PPV card - Bellew Haye.
