Ali had 18.5 rounds of combat in 4 years when he fought Frazier it is not up for argument
He never faced Foreman, Frazier was never knocked out until he did!"

I shall now break down each of these points not with accusations that you are a troll but with facts that offer counters to this rigid belief (that will never be proven) that it is absolutely factual that Marciano gets snuffed out early ...just because Joe Frazier did....

here we go with the 40 year old shop worn crap again. George Foreman himself won titles as a shop worn 43 year old didn’t he? That was way older than Walcott who was fresh off a career best win.

Vingo? Rex Layne? Lastarza, Reynolds? Shkor? charles? Joe Louis? were they less than 6ft? Was Mike Tyson, Joe Frazier, Roy Jones, Bryd and David Tua less important because they were less than 6ft in the modern era? This point you make about needing to be 6ft is only an issue if these guys never existed.

james Toney, Roy Jones, Bryd. Michael Moorer, Evander Holyfeild and many others featured in the modern era having been light heavy or cruiserweight sized in the past. Again this is a non issue.

He beat Frazier and Norton and Lyle in one era. A good era. But he lost to Ali and Jimmy Young. He beat Micheal Moorer in another era. That’s it. Were they better eras? It depends on what you think great is. Moorer certainly does not represent an entire era.

Ali was great. He was a 1960s fighter who still managed to dominate most of the 1970s. Maybe the 1970s division looks better because they made Ali, a fading great fighter struggle? The 1970s guys were Lyle, Norton, Bugner, Spinks and Young. Where as Quarry, Frazier and Ali were the 1960s.

Were Baker, Valdes, Layne, Jackson really so far away from Bugner and Young?

Rocky would be giving away no more weight than he did already against old Joe Louis who was still at least as good as Ron Lyle even then.

he beat Frazier with ease. He beat Qawi with far less ease. He beat Paralta with far less ease. He beat Scrap iron Johnson with far less ease. These were small swarmers if you like.

if it was mediocre defence that Rocky had how come he hit everybody more times than they hit him? George often got hit a lot more times than the guys he beat.

Archie Moore was so washed up he beat light heavyweight champions, the middle weight champion and the two leading heavyweight contenders..he was even the favourite to beat Patterson after Rocky demolished him. That’s how washed up Moore was!

well nobody who came forward aggressively hit as hard as Rocky. And that includes Ron Lyle who hit hard enough to have George collapse, breaking his fall with his head.

No it’s not proof. Nobody can rule out George winning and nobody can rule out Rocky landing the kinds of blows Ted Gullick did but with a lot more effect.

Absolutley George can win too. I am not saying he can’t. You are the one saying Rocky can’t and that he must lose in the same fashion as Frazier. It’s ludicrous to insist on this.

Peralta wasnt a small swarmer he was a defensive ,durable boxer who was only stopped twice in a very long career and one of those times was by Foreman.Among others Peralta when the distance with Lyle x2 and Bonavena x2. Moore was knocked the **** by Patterson out a year after losing to Rocky he was in decline ,no fighter is prime in his 40's!

in 1970 Joe Frazier fought just 5 and a half rounds. In 1970, by your own admission, Ali fought 18.5 rounds. You can do the math.

This is true both ways around. Foreman never fought Rocky.

But Moore was not in his 40s.

Moore was going through a career prime wasn’t he? Do you deny this? Otherwise why else was Archie favoured over 21 year old Floyd Patterson?

No you try again. You are insisting With certainty that Marciano must share the same fate as a man who “might not fight ever again”. A hospitalised man, who needed time away, who needed gentle matchmaking for two years.

This is a silly point ,[in fact no point at all] Frazier hadn't been forced into inactivity for 4 years!
Yes, I can do the math but you obviously can't!
From March 69 until March 71 Ali had 18rds of boxing . During that period Frazier had 12 fights!:duh

He was in his 40's when he fought Patterson and his Mother said he was 40 when he fought Rocky!I guess she would be best placed to know!
I repeat no man is prime when he is 40.
! Do you think Moore and Walcott are unique exceptions to this rule?
Christ All Mighty! You Rockistas wonder why the rest of us get pissed off with your outlandish statements!

Moore himself said his legs were gone by the time of the Marciano fight!

But in the last 12 months Ali was more active than Joe Frazier. Is this a lie? Were Quarry and Bonavena not good opposition? Were those results (on paper at least) not good?

If The issue here is that Frazier did not ever beat a great fighter, then losing to Foreman would certainly rule out any comparison with Marciano wouldn’t it? Rocky was a great fighter wasn’t he?

It’s not made up. What part is made up?

I have backed up everything with reason. Is it unreasonable to use newspaper evidence?

Is it unreasonable to suggest Stander and Daniels were hand picked, gentle opposition selected for a recovering champion?
