Cully was a great underage star Euro champ i believe but never fully brought it through to Elite level that would worry me in regard his pro journey.
He is freakishly tall for the weight though so may pose a few problems for most.
The running doesn't surprise me the guy is built like a greyhound :)

    Just a general observation:
If as described he has freakish fitness/athleticism and height/reach, then many guys with no more than that have gone a fair way in the pros. Opponents find those attributes hard to deal with. If he has any bit of ability and toughness to go with the rest he could do well....

Andy to take on Jacobs looks to be the one with spike failing to take off ,hopefully gets going and if Andy can draw with the kid he will have no problems here, change of tactics from the saunders fight and he can last with anyone.

Still only 21 so don’t think had time to develop at elite level , seen him sparring guys entering elites at his weight above and handling them very well. I’ve no doubt would have won elite titles

I assume he meant kid chocolate Peter Quillan, that was a good result away from home and as a first defence,
However that was the best part of 3 years now and i personally would rate Jacobs higher than Quillan, I would however like and to se Andy get the Jacobs fight.one last hurray for a gentleman fighter,

Any truth that tomorrows Pro boxing in the City West has been called off?
Rumour says City west pulled it due to security reasons, if so thats disgusting news

    Found this..bad form

I think he would have won last year at 60kg. I wonder what weight he'll end up at in the pros once he fully develops?

    Agreed, very bad form.
By the way, that's a strange picture of Pete Taylor to use for the article

This IS very serious. Of course it clobbers Lukes chance to gel with Pete ahead of Cummings. But in the broader sense if venues start to refuse boxing events due to the perception that Ireland's "gangland" crime is associated with boxing.....bloody hell where will that lead? Maybe we're jumping the gun here but it is a worry, no doubt.

Most worrying part is that Kavnaugh already ran a show there without instance i believe.
So the management must have either been warned off or given some information from some other sources to come to this decision.
One can only think that there will be legal ramifications cancelling so close which leads me to believe the city west must have had major concerns whatever they were wether true or false

The boxers will know more. Maybe Luke will comment but I doubt he can. I suspect our under-performing police force didn't want to risk being shown up as unable to deal with "crime"....again. That's the most likely source of the "pressure" put on citywest management to pull out at the last minute like that. Might be their insurance companies but I doubt it.

When willie Casey fought Rigo at citywest the place was literally crawling with cops. Total overkill.....and must've cost the taxpayers a fortune.

This might shed some light on it. Blames the "acting manager" of citywest. Says it had the go-ahead from the police.....I dunno though...I still reckon someone put pressure on the citywest manager....well whoever he is he'd better have a good lawyer!
