Whyte Is obvious in terms of an undeserved ranking but let's be honest Hearn for what ever reason doesn't seem too keen on making the Wilder fight right now and has been pushing the Whyte/Wilder fight hoping....and you know he would be for a suprise Whyte win to con the UK public again.

I agree regarding Ortiz' performances but again look at the opposition Hearn matched him with...he never had any intention in putting Ortiz against his golden goose.

I agree mate. You don't go to the olympics and win a medal without having the talent. Add in his power and that what makes his plight so frustrating for me personally having followed his career since the amateurs. I think it's a mixture of poor matchmaking, bad conditioning and lack of belief that has seen his career go this way. The way Coldwell threw him under the bus after Hammer was pathetic.

Have to admit, after his defeat to Hammer, I completely gave up on him, but absence makes the heart grow fonder it seems. You just get this feeling with him that maybe the stars will align and all that, and he’ll finally put in a performance that matches his talent. I’m no doubt romanticising but i’m willing to be a fool and buy into it just one more time. Come on, Pricey!!!

People seem to love to hate Hearn. The Golovkin/Brook fight in hindsight was a mistake but remember Brook agreed to the fight and Hearn was left in a position where he needed to find an opponent for Golovkin with 8 weeks to go as Eubank Jr pulled out. It was never Hearn's intention to pit Brook against Golovkin but circumstances made it the best option he had at the time.

Povetkin/Price isn't competitive in the slightest but it was never meant to be. Hearn and Povetkin just wanted an easy defence to make Povetkin look good for a proposed fight with AJ later in the year. A Brit opponent is preferred and he offered Povetkin Price and Chisora as options as there are no other decent Brit fighters available. Whyte is fighting Browne, Bellew and Haye are fighting each other and Hughie is coming off a loss and would make Povetkin look bad with his negative style.

Price has been looking for a meaningful fight for a while to try and jump start his career and jumped at this chance.

Price is the canary so they can gauge how good povetkin is now before his mandatory AJ fight. Eddie is praying price causes an upset and gets to set up a great all British fight again that he knows is an easy fight... I don't think its as big a mismatch as what Allen Ortiz was. I spoke to Allen after the fight and asked what Ortiz was like in the ring and he said it was horrible and Ortiz was a Monster.

Price has massively failed to live up to his talent over his career this is his last chance saloon shot, he has done well to get himself this shot

I was the exact same as this, but always been a niggling feeling in the back of my head about him.... what if he gets his head right and confidence back, what if he starts using his jab properly and letting his hands go, what if he comes in some sort of proper shape and has no problems in camp. I know they're all big ifs but if, all these happen and the stars align as you say he could still be a force. Probably wishful thinking. I heard an interview with him and he said he wants to go out when he's lost at the best he can be. It sounds like he's had some awful camps and luck with illness previously if you believe him. It sounds like he doesn't want to be left wondering.... what if?

Basically said he's not cut out for boxing. He's too nice this, that and the other. Then he did everything he could to distance himself from any blame for the loss or tactics, including the decision for him to come in over 19 stone. There was also patronising talk about Price still being a winner because he has a nice family or something.

Codwell is a disgrace the shape he got price in was laughable lol just took the money and because he Didn care and that's a shame because I heard price is a nice guy and if he would have been in even half decent shape he would have probably won the hammer fight codwell is just another useless trainer that gets alot of hype because his with the matchroom crew
