Lance Armstrong passed every test under the sun in one of the most rigorously tested sports on the planet, and he did it for years. Marion Jones never tested dirty in her professional career, and was at one point one of the most recognisable, respected and idolised athletes on the planet. It took whistle blowers inside the industry to finally take these two titans down, and it came long after their glory days were over and there was no more money to be had for covering up for them. From this we can deduce a couple of things: - testing is by and large completely ineffective if you're ahead enough of the game - money and fame can protect you from the worst excesses of cheating - an athlete's word and moral character are about as reliable as a perforated Johnny Fans can remain ignorant of AJ and believe that because he's never popped dirty he must be clean, but they'll be setting themselves up for a rude awakening sometime down the line. Enjoy his fights if you like, but don't get all high and mighty any time someone questions whether he's clean or not. Of course he isn't.
So all those youtubers who try the "hugh jackman" "dwayne johnson" diets and training regimes over 12 weeks are also juicing? Because as someone who frequents the gym and takes care of himself I can tell you their results are pretty impressive. AJ has never been caught, he is a self admitted gym-rat, he eats well and trains hard and has the bonus of good genetics. Stop being jealous keyboard neck beards. Go get some exercise.
He very likely is juicing. But then so too was Tyson, Holyfield, Lewis, Wlad, Vitalli, Fury and just about every other top heavyweight from the 80s and probably earlier (not to mention every weight below) You can not accuse one and not accuse all the others, which is where fans often become inconsistent. We always see it, you had fans accusing Pacquiao but not Mayweather and you have fans accusing Mayweather but not Pacquiao. And sometimes it is even worse than that, you have fans making excuses for confirmed drug cheats and then you see them 5 minutes later making every accusation under the sun for anyone else It is a sad situation, all we can say at the moment is if AJ is juicing (which he probably is), then he is merely beating all the other juicers. I just hope that all their blood samples are being stored in a freezer somewhere, so at least one day, we might get the truth, and on that day we can honour the heroes who are actually getting in the ring clean and discredit all the cheats, even if it is post-mortem, sadly though we'll probably never get to the truth. Even the biological passports don't help much, because the cheats know how to stay within the limits. There are two things that stand true right now: a) that humans will always be looking for an edge over their closest competitors, whether fairly or unfairly b) that there are many PEDs that are virtually impossible to detect Once you accept these truths, then you also have to accept that it would be extremely difficult for any clean athlete to get to the top in most sports. But do not let it become about how much you admire a sportsman or personality, or how they present themselves to the world. There is one immutable rule in the anti-doping battle: it does not matter how much you like an athlete; they can still be looking for an unfair advantage. To believe anything else is to be both naive and ignorant of precedent.
Hugh Jackman is a juicehead, so is the Rock. Get a grip. Steroids are so common in gyms it's not even funny. Your point?
I dunno maybe he does, but I haven't seen any boxer train like he does. Joshua probably doesn't train like a conventional boxer too so it would be wrong to compare. It seems as though Joshua prioritises the big muscles in pursuit of maximum power. End of the day, innocent until proven guilty. Try to enjoy boxing guys, this is a good time for us Brits believe it or not...
These threads crack me up. Yes, he is using PEDs. Anyone here done a cycle before? The obvious, is obvious. But, that's not to say the majority of the rest aren't doing exactly the same thing.
Like most top athletes, he almost certainly is. But until he’s careless enough to fail a test then who cares. Sounds crazy but passing a drugs test doesn’t mean someone is clean.
If Joshuas doping he would've been caught by now. Especially him because so many believes he is. Hes innocent.
Your comparison between Tyson and Joshua makes sense, I mean how could Joshua just walk in the gym at 17 and suddenly be so good, so soon, when Tyson had so many things in place to bring him to that level of dominance. Well I say look at George Foreman. What he did makes what Joshua has done seem mundane and ordinary. Foreman inside 2 years went from a guy who never walked into a boxing gym to Olympic champion, that's insane. Joshua 2 years after walking into a gym was getting beaten by Whyte in one of his first amateur fights, when at the same stage Foreman had won Olympic gold. At the stage Joshua did eventually win his gold medal 5 years after first putting on gloves Foreman had already beaten Frazier and was undisputed heavyweight champion. Some people are just natural great fighters, they can do amazing things down to their natural gifts, Foreman was one of these guys, so was Tyson, as is likely Joshua.
Honestly, you’ve clearly never lifted a weight and have zero knowledge in this area. Other than that I’ll look forward to your opinion on other matters.
That in no way is evidence that AJ is juicing. If we use the metric of Armstrong and Marion Jones passing tests then every athlete on the planet can be considered a drug cheat and not just Anthony Joshua. There is nothing more AJ can do other than be tested whenever he has too. People need to get it over it and accept than a guy with muscles is not automatically on steroids.
Well, he hasn't failed a test so we have to assume he's clean. That said, I notice he still isn't doing 365 VADA testing which I thought the WBA were going to make mandatory. I know the WBC do, maybe that's why the Wilder fight isn't happening
