Eubank Jr most biggest fans on here seem to be all nerds with too much time in their hands, he definitely has the most geeky fans.
I see it as a completely even 3 horse race - Eubank Jr, Groves, C Smith. Before it started I thought Smith was the clear best(as did the bookmakers). But his average perfomance against Skoglund made me rethink, maybe that was a one off though and he'll be back to his best.
Two weeks left guys. Do some more brainstorming. Have a back up excuse ready if the first one you have prepared turns out to have no substance.
All I'll be doing is jumping for joy, after he's laid out flat on his face like a limp noodle, taking a nap Rakhim Chakhkiev style, with The Saint standing astride his prone body, what a joyous sight to behold that will be.
What have you seen from CEJ to convince you he can outbox a top tier boxer since he lost to the last one he faced? You do realized that Groves legit KO'd he better Chudinov, and would behead Blackwell and O'Sullivan right? Do you really think Yildirim would have beaten Groves, or AA? Everyone Eubank has beaten since losing to BJS has played right into his hands, Groves does not.
Eubank has visibly improved so much since Saunders, he now uses his jab, doubles and triples it superbly to set up his punches. His output is exponentially better than Groves' and Groves is a notorious fader over the distance - spells disaster for Groves. There's not a chance in hell that Groves can deal with that output and he's not comfortable on the backfoot, he will end up trading and gassing and getting absolutely polaxed because his chin is not that good, Kenny Anderson had him all over the place and Froch put his lights out. And believe me Young Christopher is packing impenetrable iron in that chin, he will NEVER be knocked out. He may one day suffer a KD due to lack of balance but he will never be stopped. Groves won't have the discipline to keep it long, he will inevitably trade and even if he does try to keep it long Eubank will get inside. What was your prediction before Eubank-Yildirim?
Eubank's punch volume has improved considerably since he fought BJS. And that was a very close fight, split decision I think, so I'd certainly give Eubank a good chance against Groves IF he can get past his jab. Looking forward to it, hopefully be a great fight!
Eubank Jr is going to get outclassed by Groves. Tell me the last time Eubank Jr beat a quality boxer puncher like Groves? Eubank is going in against the best he has ever fought. There is a reason Groves gives everyone problems.
He looks like he improved because he's been in with subpar competition, and even looked bad against most of them. Groves won't have to deal with the output, CEJ fights about 40 seconds a round, then he plays it safe and is conservative as hell, his flurries are intermittent, no non stop. Young Christopher, that's so ****ing gay its repulsive, isn't packing anything close to what the old man packed in his mandible. I don't give a **** what I picked in the Yildirim fight, because guess what Yildirim ISN'T GROVES. I'd pick Groves in a heartbeat to KO Yildirim. And in my defense, he'd kind of never been down as a pro, and no one really knew how good his chin was, clearly he would have been a handful late if his chin wasn't made of papier-mache. I see the Yildirim match gave all you CEJ dickriders a SEVERE case of amnesia, remind me again when Jr. became a KO artist instead of a 10-12 round RTD artist?
I think that is a criticism you could have labelled at his dad, I think Jr has been a lot more busier though in recent fights. I agree though that Jr is unlikely to become a great KO artist. But I think this fight is intriguing, because we will find out if Eubank has improved enough to regard him as a world level boxer. Certainly his toughest fight to date IMO.
if peoples assertions that Eubank has a solid chin is based on his dads genes (coz it cant be from his fights) then explain Nathaniel Wilson?
If CEJ can withstand Groves from the early-mid rounds, then there's no way I can see Groves keeping up with the pace CEJ sets. But his chin has never been tested, gonna get tested big time by Groves from rounds 1-6, if he gets through that then CEJ takes it either on points or even late stoppage. Eubank is definitely not what people think he is defensively, if Groves lands what Spike and even Quinlan did on him, be interesting to see if he's still standing. Can't even begin to compare Doran, Blackwell, Quinlan, Yildirim and a badly aged Abraham to Groves, seriously different levels.
hes good and my pick to win the tournament after the quarterfinals.. buti don't like him and his dad.
