Often great fighter has powerful charizma - like Robinson, Dempsey, Ali, Tyson, Leonard and others.

However, there are opposite examples of great fighters who were great only in the ring but extremely boring persons outside of it.

Which great fighters do you consider as the most boring people in the life outside the ring?

Leonard had an ingratiating personality outside the ring. Complete phony trying to sound smart.

Tunney (fake, boring), DLH (super fake, so guarded you didnt really know what he was like), Hagler (chip on his shoulder, kept people at arms length), Burley (zzzz, someone once said Ben Carsons face looks like his voice is putting him to sleep. This describes Burley to me), Holmes (chip on his shoulder, kept people at arms length).

Holmes, Holyfield, Lewis, both Klitschkos, Liston, Marciano, Frazier, Charles, Walcott, Patterson, Tunney, Willard, Braddock, Sharkey ...

Wlad Klitschko even moved to California, married a TV actress who loved to be on TMZ, and when paparazzi in Hollywood saw him with his wife, they rarely if ever mentioned his name. He had zero personality. Compare that situation with Dempsey or Tyson, who both married actresses, and the reporters could care less about the wives and just wanted to talk about their husbands.

It's why boxing will always be in need of publicists and promoters.

Because every boxer can't have the personality or the verbal stylings of a Tyson Fury.

Braddock? How boring was he if they made a movie? Im not sure how faithful it was to his actual personality, but in the movie he seemed to have plenty of charm, wit, and a sense of humor. A hard working, outgoing family man, devious, sarcastic, etc. Seemed like a fun guy to hang out with.

I know everyone has different experiences but for me I trained at Fraziers in the early 90's and Joe was really kool. I met Holmes twice and both times very engaging even sat down with my wife and I for about 10 min or so.
Kovalev was just ok maybe a language issue had something to do with it.
On a lighter note Buddy McGirt made u feel like he knew you his whole life and a wealth of knowledge to boot. Super kool guy.

Yeah, my dad met Frazier out on the town a couple times a long time ago in Philly and told me that Joe was actually a life-of-the-party type (might have been the alcohol but either way, he definitely had charisma). And a friend from Easton told me that Holmes is actually a very warm guy and generous with his time.

That's awsome...Way back wen my Pop was a Phila Cop he used to see Joe alot on his beat and he would tell me what a great guy he was. When Joe lived in Whitemarsh PA until his divorce we lived about 3 or 4 miles away and in Cheltenham PA Jimmy Young lived about 2 miles away. A good friend of mine was a sparring partner of Jimmys
