Are there any fighters in history you think could beat a prime Roy Jones?

yeah, that's why Calzaghe waited until jones was 44 years old before 'beating' him

never said he only faced bums. i stated that hbo didn't hold him back. In fact they roundly criticised him for his opponents. if you think this is not so, you simply never watched hbo back then. sorry if my pointing out some of his bum killing ways upset you.

true but you cannot pretend he was a young guy waiting on an old guy to be past prime. you know, ala Canelo and Golovkin.

really? because earlier you doubted the graphic ever existed. i was going on memory. you obviously are straight up lying when you said hbo never posted that graphic.

    Get your facts straight.

    Calzaghe was 36
    Jones Jr was 39

Jones by his own admission had a 16 lb advantage on young MW Hopkins.

Toney fight was at SMW. At LHW, Tarver is vastly superior to Lights Out.

Reggie gave Tarver a good fight but overall, did little else of note at LHW. Reggie being an experienced southpaw just matched up well with Tarver.

Tarver was erratic but had tools other Jones opponents did not. He was tall Southpaw with a giant reach and one punch power. A very dangerous opponent when he was on.

I agree with a lot here.. Calzaghe is the first name that comes to mind. By no means a certainty, but JC had the right kit to beat a prime RJJ. As the great Manny Steward remarked, "Joe would have given Roy problems at any stage of his career".

I agree. But he was obviously much fresher than Roy.

No, you have misunderstood me. I never doubted the graphics existed. I just wanted you to post some examples, so we could see where he was in his career at the time, and to look into why those proposed fights didn't happen.

The was the most famous one:

What do you mean you don't care?

    Ha!

How can you criticise a mandatory opponent?

List some of your favourite fighters and we'll have a look at some of their low level mandatories.

You can't criticise Roy for fighting Kelly and Woods.

When did I say HBO held him back?
