I don’t think it makes a difference where this is as Usyk style is more suited to winning on points and Gassiev style is more suited for a stoppage win. Whoever wins this fight is probably gunna be my fighter of the year, I doubt anyone would top winning a tournament of this style against the best fighters in their division and coming our undisputed. Does this make a difference to you?
Usyk might be at risk of getting jobbed seeing as how he's a devout Christian crusader and Gassiev might or might not be a Muslim. Nobody seems to know.
Is Gassiev a secret mujahaddin? Will the KGB fix the fight? Will the CIA? Is Usyk a feather fisted slapping cyborg from the 25th century? We’ll all find out on May 11th!
Russia, Ukraine, great relations. They just don't quite fit in the same sentence. The chances of there being a riot and a huge fight in the stadium are uh...pretty likely. I can also sense the atmosphere affecting the already biased judges that they employ for this fight. The judges being biased because Putin decided he must throw some money at the WBSS hosts to make sure Gassiev wins and his Ukrainian enemy Usyk loses. Russia is just not the answer. That being said, neither is Saudi because they have a reputation of never quite getting fights over the line. And I can see that one being underwhelming as well. Kalle and the WBSS team need to stick to the simple options for this fight. US or UK, possibly something like Germany. But nothing exotic, please Kalle. Just don't, it will be a mess and a huge shame if hosted somewhere silly like Russia and Saudi Arabia. Neutral venue yes, but Saudi no.
Yeah a place like germany would be best, it has a boxing fans, both guys will have supporters there and shouldnt be biased towards any of the fighters.
Does anyone actually think a mega bid from Russia is actually great news? This tournament is a great concept but obviously costs a lot of money to run and it seems the TV deals may not have been a raging success. To keep the tournament afloat breaking even would be a great result and the competitive nature of the fights will surely attract bigger tv bids and keep quality fighters involved.
Il tell you the answer, Oakland baby! Then the exhausted winner has to face Andre ward straight after the fight! Only way to have it fair is in murica!
SOB would have to have Tony Weeks are his personal referee, the judges would have to be hand picked by SOB, the boxing commission...................
Despite the fact that I'm from Russia, I think that the fight should take place in a neutral country. Poland or Germany would be great, not far from Ukraine and Russia and not expensive to get.
It would give Gassiev an unfair home advantage. For this reason alone (there are some other political ones, for example) I don't want it to be in Russia.
