Sky Sports' coverage of fights is atrocious and amateur.

Just watched Okolie Chamberlain fight.

Can't stand their ridiculous camera angles. All fight long it was zoomed in on upper bodies, completely unable to see footwork., tactics, ANYTHING.

Filming it with cinematic, eastenders drama angles. Learn from the real pros- stations in the states have been filming for years. Learn from them. Bloody Amateurs.

 

I don't think there were much tactics in that fight.

 

I agree, Sky's coverage is terrible and has actually got worse and worse. I cringed at the commentary team mentioning Abel Sanchez not being in Carson Jones' corner because they might have had a falling out or Abel Sanchez trusting Jones with knowing what to do throughout his fight. They were completely ignorant to the fact that he is the trainer of Gassiev who has a unification fight. Instead they just just spent the whole of the broadcast hyping Okolie as the greatest Cruiserweight prospect in the world.

 

I remember watching this and thinking the game has changed and BT Sport is now where's its at.

Their approach to boxing is diabolical, an insult to the intelligence of actual boxing fans, and I'm about sick to the back teeth of the awful punditry.

Jesus WTF was that shot? Quarter of a profile shot with an askew frontal shot all out of focus, what kind of mickey mouse set up is that. I follow Youtubers who can shoot a video with better framing than that, I know it's live but hell an interview shouldn't look like it's filmed on a selfie stick.

 

had to make an account when i saw this topic. seriously i cant stand skysports boxing its all over the top hype aimed at the brainless casual fans its a complete joke. the commentary the punditry, the cringe inducing build up , promo videos and ring walks its all just cringe.

 

Nelson, Smith and Bellew take the **** with biased inaccurate agenda ridden opinions. Terrible fight Okolie v Chamberlain and the commentary backed it up..I was looking forward to it, what a let down in every department !

 

His voice goes deep for pure drama effects like an absolute tool. Does'nt fit in with boxing in any way imo.
