Sulecki is indeed underrated, it's not a bad fight by any means. Danny is the favourite but I want to see it.

Jacobs REALLY ****ed up by not entering WBSS tournament.
Saunders won't fight him and GGG and Canelo are having a trilogy.

Jacobs @ 168lbs, taking on the division's best? I dunno..

He'd beat Cox & Yildrim for sure, but the rest?

That said, he did whoop the ass of the current IBF super middleweight champ a few years back..

He'd be right at home with his size, he's a massive middleweight.
There's NO way Groves or Eubank would choose him in the 1st round, both of them plucked super easy opponents in Cox and Yildrim.
I'd favor Jacobs to make it to the semi finals at least.

The fighters didn't have a say in the draws for the QFs, did they?

He'd beat Braehmer, Skoglund and Brant too ...

Jacobs is more or less on the level of GGG/Canelo, either would have been favoured to win the whole tournament. Maybe that's a bit too much, but he ought to get to the semis at least.

FWIW Jacobs vs Eubank Jr is 50/50 according to the UK bookies, and Eubank Jr is the tournament favourite. Personally I'd pick Danny vs Groves as well as the three I mentioned earlier, I really don't rate the current version.

Good fight, given the circumstances. Sulecki is underexposed.

People would be more hyped for an Andrade fight, but I'm not certain he's better than Sulecki at this point.

They did, Gassiev-Wlod was predetermined by IBF as a mando, so Usyk had a first go, he picked Huck.
Briedis then had to choose between Perez and Kudryashov. So Dorticos was stuck with Dmitry.

    Same for 168.

Jacobs, BJS, Eubank, Charlo brothers,Murata doing their cherry picking, waiting till the end of the Canelo-GGG trilogy, so they have more chance against them.

how about any of these chaps:

    Derevyanchenko

    Andrade

    Murata

    (Jermall) Charlo

Saunders (hopeless, but not Jacobs' fault)

    David Benavidez

    Zurdo Ramirez

    (Anthony) Dirrell

    Rocky Fielding

the latter four are obviously SMW, but so was Jacobs for the better part of his career. No idea how he makes 160; in any event, he's a massive MW, so for Jacobs, shopping for opponents at SMW makes sense. In particular, neither Benavidez nor Zurdo are in the Tournament, though Zurdo just fought last weekend, but wasn't seriously challenged

the first two might be busy--fighting each other, and i think i read that Hearn is trying to get that fight on Jacobs' card. If so this is ironic, given that Jacobs wants two fighters, neither of whom he would make a fight with, to fight each other and help build his card.

    good insight

granted, two of the four major belt holders did not participate in the tournament (Benavidez and Zurdo) so the SMW tournament won't produce a unified champ as it will for CW, but still,....

and Jacobs is a massive MW who fought at SMW for all but his last nine or 10 fights

the rumour is that a fight with Andrade is in negotiation

the same source said that Hearn wants that fight (Derevyanchenko vs Andrade) on the undercard for Jacobs vs Sulecki

it might make business sense, but i hope that doesn't happen; i don't think two fighters should fight each other and help build the card for a guy who has no interest in fighting either of them, and instead fights a weaker opponent, while still claiming to be the best MW in the world
