Interesting. Briedis has a really good chin, why pick the Rebel over Kudryashov? I would figure the latter was a much easier night's work on paper for Briedis. Stylistically he would have gobbled Kudra up and spat him out.
Best financial decision Jacobs ever made fighting GGG. Wins like 3 rounds then geta a multi fight deal with HBO against overmatched opposition. i will laugh so hard if Sulecki Pirog's him because he is not winning a decision
good fight i like it. still pickin jacobs to win as long as he trains properly an stays in tip top shape hes a beast. not many guys can beat him ggg an canelo thats maybe it. an jacobs might b able to take canelo who knows.
Sulecki was impressive in taking apart Centeno, but Jacobs is a lot better than Centeno and should be favored.
yessir seems to me that Jacobs has got to be most entitled fighter ever he knew that GGG likes to fight three or four times each year, and he knew that GGG's calendar was more or less "on hold" while their fight was being made, while Jacobs himself is just fine fighting every eight months or so, so Jacobs uses this as leverage--he held out for 16 more percentage points (41% versus the WBA-mandated 25% purse split, which the WBA reiterated when Jacobs appealed) and he had the rematch clause struck from the fight contract (ironic now of course, given that he won't shut up about how GGG owes him a rematch) Jacobs refused to engage GGG for most of the fight (i scored it 8-4 watching it live, and 9-3 second pass) but got the usual favorable judging from fighting in his own backyard against a foreigner--which gives his non-stop whining that he won the fight "by at least two rounds" at least a shred of credibility to the casual he justifies his choice of opponents by claiming that the MW elite are scared of him. Maybe, but Jacobs is just picking up right where he left off before the GGG fight. I suspect Jacobs prices himself out--$1M for the Quillen fight, even more for the GGG fight--so this is what he thinks he's worth. So for a fight with Charlo, Derevyanchenko, et al he would probably insist on a purse split of 75-25 (or more) which isn't justified based on their relative standing in the division. Jacobs post-fight behaviour (GGG) and his fight-night weight likely worry promoters as well. and now Jacobs apparently wants to get the (in negotiation) Andrade vs Derevyanchenko fight on his undercard; brilliant--"i'm not going to make a fight with either of you, i'll choose a much lesser threat as usual, but why don't you guys fight each other and please come and build my card" (if i could read Jacobs thoughts)
Excellent post: Jacobs is simply horrible diva that's a nightmare to deal with yet get heaps of Murican privilege. He takes long breaks between fights so he can juice up because he does not do year round VADA like GGG. Even with that he only get tested once before the GGG fight with some insiders claiming not at all while GGG got tested four times in the final two weeks and multiple times in between and during the fight lead up. I honestly hate these privileged Western man babies with their hometown fights, outrageous purses, hand picked officials/opponents and crooked PED testing rigged in their favor. Now apparently they even have the power to match make their potential opponents(Derevyanchenko/Andrade) while they take soft touches. Just who died and made jacobs King anyway? Jacobs is the King of dog shite! This content is protected
Overhyped? Anyone with a punch is capable of taking out Jacobs. Skoglund is iron chinned and much larger and stronger than Jacobs. I can't see how he can beat him tbh. Obviously not going to pick him to beat Jr or Callum Smith and Jacobs has next to no advantages against Groves so I can't see how you can favour him tbh. I'd only definitively pick him to beat Brant tbh Jr was only 3rd favourite and initially was underdog against Groves, he has been backed in to favouritism. Same would happen if he fought Jacobs 110%
Not heard of him but defo a step up from the small Arias, sounds more than a stay busy fight anyway and at least he’s keeping busy as we all know he’d fight GGG and Canelo in a heartbeat
Well can you remeber the negotiations for GGG v Jacobs,it wasn’t apparent at the time why the fight didn’t happen months previous and there was no updates or anything until Jacobs came off his cycle, camp with Andre Ward lol speaks volumes as Ward taught him well re negotiations, give em nothing, demand everything and take everything.
Exactly and it’s the same with Saunders, both would fight these in a heartbeat so in staying busy I’ve no probs with this.
Ok CST80 not sure if you’ve seen the thread on Saunders but am I missing something as Isal believes Saunders needs to step up and hasn’t fought anyone? Not sure if he’s replied yet but I asked him a genuine question about if he could name me some other Middleweights who have and are doing more, maybe I’ve missed something but guys like Charlo and Andrade have done nothing at the weight and I’m struggling to see where Isal is coming from if he’s indeed genuine about this.
Sulecki has a couple fights elevating him above other prospects. Has not done anything great though, but still he's a top 10, and has proven to dig deep and find a way to win and has a fairly well rd'd game As for this one... MS hasn't felt elite power, nor elite speed. Add Jacobs monstrous frame.... This fight is fought tentatively by both, with MS pressing early until he's countered. Fight could end early, but MS could hang around 8/10 rds, and DJ could find himself chasing. IDK..... Andy Lee would give the fans a thrill... This one would end >5 rds, and be a 70/30 DJ type fight... But GAAAAWWWDDD... THAT R HOOK
good fight.. I heard the poland guy is pretty decent..but never seen him fight to be honest.. so leaning towards Jacobs victory.
Not sure it’s even a fair fight,to be sure Canelo walks around heavy but in terms of size Jacobs is so much bigger than Golovkin, kinda like asking Floyd to face GGG imo.
DJ could one shot him in the first Rd ala Mello v Lubin. Sulecki has shown decent resistance, but...if he eats a counter.... As for credit....it's a great win and should propel him into an eliminator fight. Far better than raising the corpse of Macklin or putting the final touches on Stevens career. I'd like to see DJ v Mallo awaiting the winner of GGG Alvarez though I feel GGG is after BJS if he's robbed again.
