Because Jacobs and Golovkin fought and Jacobs gave him the toughest fight of his career, with many scoring it for him. Shouldn't have been hard to figure that one out.

    Jacobs fought GGG and lost.

Saunders beat Lemieux, a higher standard of boxer than Jacobs has ever beaten....and arguably more impressive than GGG did.

    Saunders deserves GGG.

    That's ridiculous. And, um, hypocritical!

BJ Saunders wants nothing to do with Daniel Jacobs.

Golovkin working on that legacy by rematching Canelo then hopefully rematching Jacobs after but if that isn't possible, the next best thing he could do for himself would be to face Saunders. If Jacobs or Golovkin don't want to fight each other, that's fine, but the most deserving fight to be made based on their very recent bout is indeed them fighting each other. Golovkin/Jacobs II is actually more deserving than Golovkin/Canelo II. Certainly both are more deserving and logical in more ways if you follow boxing than a bout with Saunders. That has nothing to do with my opinion of potential competitiveness in each bout and that is not me hating Saunders. As I said, he would be the next most deserving opponent for Golovkin which is a big compliment, sooooo...

People keep saying that Saunders has a better win than Jacobs. The problem is that a totally relevant and impossible to ignore percentage of fans, fellow boxers and trainers scored a fight that saw Jacobs beating Golovkin. If that doesn't open your eyes, nothing will. I don't even feel I'm being an ass or unreasonable here at all.

That's the issue I see with BJS fans.. Too much clout for the Lemieux fight.

Lemieux is one dimensional. He's a ome trick pony. He's exciting to watch against limited fighters, but against world class opponents he has no chance but a punchers chance.

    "BJS fans"?

Jacobs hasn't got any names on his resume.....

If he got the fight with GGG on the back of 0 names, Saunders deserves it off the back of 1.

    12 - 18 months?

If he defeated GGG, Canelo and Jacobs in that time frame, sure, it's possible. Saunders is definitely in the right weight division with the right opponents to 'prove' he is PFP NO.1

24 - 30 months best case scenario IMO.

How bad does Saunders want to be the 'MAN' though? He's got the ability but does he have the desire?

Not a bold prediction in my eyes, a formality really.

Jacobs had that mickey mouse WBA belt and was rated #2 in the division. Even then it was like pulling teeth for Golovkin to get him into the ring.

Imo Jacobs is a disgrace of a fighter who only wants to seek out fights against guys well bellow his level.

If you discount a mentally shattered Quillin on the cusp of retirement , he hasn't a single top 10 win and currently wants no part of anybody ranked in the top 10.

He may have a defacto win over GGG , but that really only compounds the belief that GGG has always been overrated.

I agree that if he was to beat GGG, Canelo and Jacobs, he'd be P4P top of the tree. Add Charlo, Andrade and maybe an elite super-middleweight to that for the challenge then he is a hall of famer as well. If Eubank Jr beats Groves, wins the final, and BJS faces him and beats him at super-middleweight, that will be one hell of a statement.

I rate BJS really, really highly. I am sure he beats all of the above. I mean, let's face it, he has better skills than Canelo and Jacobs do, and his defense and movement are so strong that he has a great chance of beating GGG. GGG is just Lemieux but with a great jab, two powerful hands instead of one and the best chin in boxing. Lemieux is the perfect warmup for GGG, I see Lemieux as a 'GGG lite'

This is how I see it playing out (Doesn't mean I see the fights actually happening):

BJS beats GGG by decision 7-5, close, competitive fight
    beats Canelo by decision 8-4
    beats Jacobs by decision 8-4
    beats Charlo by decision 9-3
    beats Andrade by decision 9-3
beats Eubank Jr at SMW by decision 8-4
beats Groves at SMW by decision 7-5

I'd give him Number 1 if he beats GGG after the Canelo fight and unifys the division. Then he either defends against Canelo or goes to 168 and challenges EubankJR for the WBA IBO straps.

Totally, incredible how some folk gravitate towards that 10%,take the last two Cruiserweight fights both are an ex@mple of how you can have a close competitive fight whilst the loser only managed a few rounds, this seems lost on some.
