Jorge Linares is not an elite fighter or an A level fighter. He's not even Shawn Porter Level.

Bon Iver? You're two thousand and late my friend. I'm bopping down to the Berghain later to listen to music the coolest person you've ever heard of has never heard of and i'll be doing it whilst wearing one of my many Linares is the GOAT t shirts.

Laughable that you try to equate Linares meager domestic level opposition, to that of Loma and Crawford. While both Loma and Crawford leave a bit to be desired as far as quality opposition, their best opponents are a level or two above Linares opposition.

Ehhh... I can see some similarities, but mostly differences. First, Linares has been stopped 3 times, Loma has never been stopped. Second, all of Linares' losses have been during his prime as a professional fighter. Maybe he was a tad green in his first KO loss, but still, he was an experienced champ during his KO losses. Lomachenko had a close decision loss in his 2nd pro fight. Which at the end of the day is far less relevant than a mid career loss.

Horrible comparison. Pacquiao was a teenager during his early losses. His only prime loss was to Erik Morales. An A+ level elite fighter.

Linares is losing to guys like Antonio DeMarco... FFS.

Well yea how can you be an A level or elite fighter with terrible physical tools? If you can't punch or take a punch at all then you cannot be an elite fighter. If your chin cracks that easily then what's so impressive about somebody cracking it? It's one thing to crack a chin like Miguel Cotto or Paul Williams for example, two guys with a pretty damn good chin. And it's another to crack a Jorge Linares chin.

Porter is a better fighter p4p than Linares. I cannot imagine Porter losing to p4p equivalents of DeMarco, Salgado and Thompson. It's one thing to have KO losses against that level of competition. It's another to lose close UD's to pure world class fighters like Thurman and Brook. Like 99% of all WW's in history lose wide to Thurman and Brook.

You act like styles don't make fights. If Maidana hadn't fought Khan and then had the same career he had - what would we all pick the outcome to be?

I kinda, sorta actually understand what you're saying. An elite fighter should not be as fragile
as Linares is. His offensive skillset is elite, I don't think there should be a question about
that. He's beautiful offensively but the truth is, he really hasn't fought anyone that stylistically
can put it on him like the guys that gave him his Ls. Mikey and Loma are both hitters that are
equally as skilled or more, Easter, Ray Beltran and even Commey? are all stylistically the type
of guys that could take his offense and still detonate him like Demarco. A better comparison
would be Khan not Porter. It's kind of disrespectful to say "not even Porter's" level as
Porter only lost at the highest level of his division and gave very good accountings in
    both fights.

Well yes I agree. Shawn Porter is clearly a better fighter than Linares is.

Putting Juan Manuel Marquez in a bag with Jorge Linares is doing Juan one heck of a disservice.

Other than that, I agree. I never got the hype with Linares, guy never looked like much more than a B fighter to me. Talented, but perceptibly limited. Granted, he's gone on to win titles at three weights, but so has Adrien Broner - that's not such a guaranteed badge of distinction in the modern sport.

Mikey and Loma both make mincemeat of him.

(Kellerman comparing him to Ray Robinson was laughable enough in 2011, but it's downright embarrassing to hear him still clinging to that conceit in 2018.)
