I am fine with 2 fights.. but after that it needs to be spence or the #3 guy.

Since Thurman is intent on fighting two fights before Spence I think he should first take on someone on the level of a Mike Alvarado or Mauricio Herrera to test out the elbow and see where he is in terms of rust. He needs someone he is likely to beat who also has a name and those two guys seem to fit the bill.

Assuming he wins (and hopefully looks good doing so), he should then take on someone like Jessie Vargas or Lucas Matthysse. Again these are very winnable fights for "One Time" if he is in good form and a win against one of these guys sets up the Spence match perfectly.

Ah, OK, you like the Vargas fight. I was wondering which fight would bring Keith more credit. Matthysse of course is a big banger, but he looks to be on the slide and a lot of people were unimpressed by his most recent performance. Vargas seems to be riding pretty high right now as he's had some decent wins after the Pac loss. It's probably the better fight for Thurman in that regard.

Jessie's got a big right hand that can put down or seriously hurt someone. Very, very live dog.

My money is on Thurman hoping Spence either gets beat, or blows up where he really starts to struggle making weight, hes a big boy at 147lbs. Thurman rightly so should take a easier fight than Spence for his first fight back after such a layoff, but to me, he really seems like hes not fancying this in the slightest.

Thurman could have been a something if he wasn't under Haymon. This guy fights once a year, wasting his prime away. If he fights a turn-up in 2018, he won't fight again until 2019. I gave him being a fan of his after suffering through 1 fight a year for the last 3 ****ing years.

He can definitely punch with enough power to keep ya honest and I believe he's capable of scoring KO's. However, he has only stopped one opponent in his last 14 fights! :scared1

But you are fine with a really elite fighter mercilessly beating on an overmatched journeyman opponent?

Oh, you must be one of those selfish dreamers who think that fans deserve to see the best fight the best more than once every five years.

    I do not like Haymon!

I don't blame Thurman for wanting to take a couple tuneup fights to test his injury, see if it has healed............

One Time and Porter nearly get into it. It started out all amicable until they started criticizing each other's taste in attire. Never diss another man's garms :deal:

Brook fought GGG, needed surgery on his eye and his next fight was Spence.

    Thurman is a *****.

Yeah, he is not ready to take a risk. Done got used to being called the champ. He's headed for a fall because instead of fighting with the ferocity that normally brings, he will be fighting cautious and that can cost him. Hope not but that's how I see it right now.
