Could Langford, despite the size difference use his punching power to win against AJ or is AJ's combined size, strength and skill just too much?

Joshua isnt a defensive master as far as i can judge. Langford could hit him on the chin.

I believe if Sam catches AJ as wlad did , then Langford could stop him. But Joshua can punch pretty hard to , so its 50/50 for me .

Sam had the power to drop anyone, but to get in position to do so against such a huge man is a big ask.
He did ko Wills so its ,possible, likely? I'm not so sure.
Sam would have to win by stoppage imo.
Does he go in quick and try to catch AJ early or does he try and stay out of his way under his tank begins to empty? I would favour the first option ,but it's a very tough proposition because of AJ's physical advantages.imo

I would guess he might try to blast him out within the first couple of rounds. It's a big ask. But he has a hope against anyone. Maybe I'm just thinking that because he's my favorite fighter...

Zero. No chance whatsoever. Langford is 5'7- thats the same size as Chavez Sr for example.

The only Heavies Sam ever beat were drunks picked up off the floor.

Didn't Lang lose about 10 fights to Harry Wills?

Harry Wills was like a black version of Jess Willard. AJ creams all 3 of those guys.

I respect those guys from that era but they mostly fought gandy dancers , mining town prospectors , deck hands , carnies etc etc :sisi3:

Heard so much about it. I'm a Brit living in Taiwan these days, so the postage costs more than the books. But I'll get it one of these days :)

Langford did not lose to Wills until he was past his prime.Wills was significantly better than Willard imo.
Langford had over 300 pro fights, I'd presume he picked up some skills and finesse along the way.

Some more info on Sam Langford
    http://www.cyberboxingzone.com/boxing/langford.htm

What I find incredible is that he weighed 139-204 pounds. I know he couldn't have been fightin g as a heavy and then still making weight for light weight.
