Is that right? I'm not so sure. In any event, only a very small minority are vicious woman-beating murderers... Seems unfair to lump the rest of them in with someone like Monzon.
Like I said, I can appreciate their skill in the ring without having delude myself that every single guy who laces on a glove is an angel. Dont sit there on your high horse and insinuate im being too hard on murderers, rapists, armed robbing drug dealers etc. And no, I dont think they are representative of all or even most boxers. But dont tell me that some murdering ****er who beat his woman black and blue LITERALLY, snapped her neck and threw her off a balcony to her death suffered a tragic end because he died in a car accident on a totally undeserved furlow from prison. Sorry but karma is a *****.
You are one serious/intense guy! This is the internet, for one, and secondly no one here is looking down their noses at you or insinuating you've got some flawed viewpoint or anything remotely of the sort. Be cool.
Everyone has a personality it just depends whether we like others personality. A lot of folk take the presentation of a sportsman they see as that being their true personality, like many comedians show, when out of the 'spotlight' they are often shy, needing alcohol/drugs to enjoy life, in other words it is an act when in public, presenting a good personality earns them money, in boxing Ali would never have earned the money he did if his personality was of a quiet unassuming workman like boxer, likewise Tyson in his decline would have not earned millions for the latter fights in his career, if he had a polite non controversial personality. I as a boxing fan endeavour to focus on the within the squared circle abilities of the boxers i watch, whether they sign autographs for the fans, take part in engaging media interviews, are kind to their mother or work tirelessly for charity, these are superfluous to me. Muhammad Ali failed to sign my autograph book in the early 70s, so obviously he had zero personality.
I disagree completely. In fact Ive been surprised that even the ones who came from horrible backgrounds are genuinely good people who really appreciate the good will of their fans.
