it doesnt take serious guts to take on a man you know is faded, or in Hagler's case, shot

it's only when a fighter is in at his peak and you decide to face him that you show guts

this nosing up is a concocted story by people like you and so is "ATG speedy boxer in Benitez". maybe your eyes just move too slow. you dont even know what speed IS! NORRIS was fast, that's why he won and kicked a$$!

Hector, tho not the blazing fast Hector of 14 yrs earlier, when he was winning championships, still had enough to give that boy of yours a first class a$$ whipping - rds. 1 ,2 , 3, 4, then put him in the grave by the 5th. that shuts them up every time

the evidence is in the a$$ whippings.

he still whipped Leonard good and that's something that'll never go away.

As people have already said, he didn't really have any weaknesses worth quibbling over. Remarkably complete fighter in many ways. The Shields comment about him telegraphing some of his shots is interesting though and not entirely without merit, though like mcvey says, he telegraphed em first class special delivery and didn't let you sign for the parcel. I do think it was partially why Duran had such success against in Montreal; he seemed to be able to read Ray 's body language and react accordingly to slip blows. That was Duran though, the lad was a freak of nature.

Only other minor quibble would be that Leonard was great when focusing exclusively on either attacking or defending but that he didn't always seamlessly meld the two together. For example, he got hit a lot against Kalule in a fight he won by shipping accurate punches to land his own accurate ones with greater force. Just basically took one to land one rather than consistently slip/block and counter. It paid off though, it nearly always did.

So now your saying Terry Norris has no guts? That's cold. Stop bashing Norris. So what if his best wins were against old, washed up fighters who were usually smaller. That' s what he needed to do to survive in boxing. Remember he had a chin of fine China. Take it easy on Terry he did the best he could.

I think I remember reading the same thing in KO magazine. And I think he's right, to a degree. But he did same that Ray hit harder than Tommy in another interview.
