    Round 8

Sigmon rocked badly early on with a left hook. Jones doesn't follow up, instead choosing to prolong his torture. Jones traverses all the way across the large ring, posting up by the ropes, waiting for Sigmon to come to him. Sigmon does so, reluctantly. Jones paws at the air with some jabs, daring Sigmon to cross the barrier. Jones is casually lobbing 1-2s into the face, easily piercing the high guard Sigmon is now holding up. Jones is using his left glove fully straightened and extended to hold Sigmon in place to set up his combos thoughtfully.

    10-9 Jones

    80-72 Jones

I'm not sure Cujo got a shot off that round. His corner needs to be merciful here..

    Round 9

Sigmon runs over to Jones and mauls him into a corner, winging punches but not laying a glove on Jones. Occasional contact with his elbows and forearms, that's all. Sigmon very untidy with his work. Very high, wild right hand sails up past Jones' head as Sigmon throws a no-look overhand. Jones is burying his chin into Sigmon's throat and forcing Sigmon to pummel the body, or at least try. Jones' own arms keep getting in the way, gumming up the works. Jones able to pop off counters and get his arms back into position to shield from Sigmon's body shots. Jones propels himself off the middle rope by sitting his butt down and back and lands a body combo, but Sigmon lands a lucky hook at the same time and make Jones blink. Sigmon gets bold and flurries up top. Jones blocks and moves his head, and pops a few flashy 1-2s into the nose. NO-LOOK LEFT UPPERCUT BY JONES WHILE STEPPING AROUND JONES! DOUBLE RIGHT UPPERCUT!! STYLING!

    10-9 Jones

    90-81 Jones

Damn Roy. I'd have given you much better work. Coming up watching Roy Jones from the amateurs through his prime, this is sad to see.

Roy seems to be carrying this guy along. When has he actually sat down on a punch with real conviction?

    Round 10

Sigmon is getting jabbed all over, covering up but Jones finding somewhere to land no matter what. Jones too fast and clever for Sigmon to have a prayer defensively. Jones talks with someone in the crowd, laughing, while backing himself up into the ropes and waiting for Sigmon to close the gap. Sigmon makes his way, dutifully playing the role of the sucker by paddling away on the body, getting picked off with the backs of Jones' arms, then getting lit up with counters on his increasingly busted-up face. BIG LEFT HOOK BY SIGMON while muscling Jones into the ropes. Partially blocked and rolled with, but Jones is now clinching. Sigmon is trying for a KO in the final minute, but Jones isn't really hurt. Breathing a little heavily but not hurt. Jones takes a deep inhalation and goes off with his own frenetic volley, throwing like 20 unanswered quick punches to stifle any momentum Sigmon was thinking of building. Jones lands about 19 of 20 in that final volley.

    10-9 Jones

    100-90 Jones

The most spiteful punch all night might have been that big left hook Sigmon winged in the last minute. (that Roy just blinked off)

Well, sounds like Sigmon, by hook or by crook, succeeded in making Jones a bit uncomfortable at some point (like, maybe a nanosecond, but still...) over the last three rounds. Kudos to Cujo for that.
