Beterbiev's future?

Yeah, he is still waiting for the date for the hearing on his contract dispute with Yvon Mitchell. Also, he has filed inquiry for court to officially make his contract with Yvon Mitchell completed because his contract has ended a time ago. And he is free to fight wherever he wants and fight anyone he wants to. He is set to fight in Grozny,Russia in April or May. He is friends with Ramzan Kadyrov who has the money to put up big card in Grozny,Russia.

 

Powers at be will continue to stall and effectively ruin his career as they have for the last 2-3 years.

 

Inactivity + irrelevance for BF24's darling... not a good combination.

Hopefully he does, well, something.

I know it’s absolutely maddening as I’d rather see him in some stay busy/showcase fights than do nothing at all.
I’ve a feeling that they’ll do with the light Heavyweights what they’ve been doing with the Super Middleweights and Cruiserweights soon enough which will be a boon for Beterbiev as folk will have to face him.

 

For sure but I think it’s all about to change as these powers that Be have to have recognised how good a spectacle the Ali trophy has been?

Whilst the cruiser weight has been fought in Europe the Super Middleweight tournament has essentially been a UK tournament so by that logic I’m thinking the Light Heavyweights would be an American tournament making it more likely to happen.

Seeing Beterbiev do his version of what Gassiev has done would be something to watch and s***bags like Stevenson would more than likely lose his belt by not taking part.

Beterbiev,Bivol,Kovalev,Badou Jack,Barrera and who knows maybe SOB might be interested would make it a great tournament imo.

 

Beterbiev signed with yvon michel who sponsored Beterbiev or else it didn't look like he'd even be able to come to north america not without a struggle. He then focused more on quebec fighters because he wasnt able to make a profit from Beterbiev took a big loss in the cloud fight and didn't even try to make another big fight. Right now the contract isn't offically over but there is a breach of contract for lack fights. Beterbiev has to pay a percentage to GYM right now. I thought it was strange his fight went to purse bid with a different promoter. He made next to nothing in his title fight for the fact a large sum went to GYM who did nothing.

 

Wow how stacked is this division?say if Groves wins the tournament,maybe he’d want move up to Light Heavyweight just to try and hold a record at both tournaments lol

 

At his point, he doesn't even have a mandatory contender.
