Love Tommy as a legendary fighter and extremely explosive based on match ups but Toney was the better fighter and would beat him ..

I prefer Hearns by a mile, but I can't pick against Toney in this one.

Tommy Hearns by close but clear decision. His height, quickness and that rapier like jab bring home the VICTORY

Agreed. I think an important point to add is that Hearns would land a couple of good right hands early to keep Toney that bit more honest and respectful.

Toney would spend the entire fight rolling and playing defense and less time countering

Toney was so inconsistent. For every great performance there was a Tiberi or Thadzi or Griffin. Meanwhile Hearns wasn't exactly the model of excellence at either weight, taking only a coffee break at middle (where he twice got KO'd) and having a shallow result tab at lightheavy.

My guess is that Toney's durability keeps him around all 12 rounds and a quick counter probably lands Hearns on his @ss. But Tommy wins by activity and points when Toney fails to dig deep down the stretch.

Seamus knows what he's talking about. I'd pick Hearns by decision (and to be fair it would be pretty close) but if Toney comes in on one of his suck nights where he trained at the local Burger Box and had to lose 10lb at the weigh in type efforts ... then I take Hearns by KO. Can you imagine the version that fought Tiberi coming out intact against Hearns? I can't.

Lol picking hearns over toney h2h is laughable.michael nunn was better at 160 than hearns. Toney would smash him like a robust tarantula would with a skinny praying mantis

Whatever the outcome I think Toney would be down on the scorecards at the end of the fight.

This be a technical fight similar to Hearns vs Benitez. Where TH put
on a brilliant performance. Hearns puts on another clinic.
    TH on pts.
