Okay Jerry would be at least 12-5, Lets get real here, there was not anyone in the World, Jerry was not capable of knocking out, he knocked out 4 world rated fighter's , 4 more than the great Bonavena! I'm not saying he would ko George, but i'd rather have seen Jerry in for all the marbles, instead of a Joe Frazier rematch! Jerry's forte was besting the big Slugger. And he'd bring a load of experience vs Foreman, George would have made a mint, wether he ducked him or not , George to me is a great guy, and for that much cash???? Seems he would have gave Jerry a shot after Quarry defeated Shavers or Lyle.

Hey Ronnie; didn't check the actual date of the Alexander s c r a p. But it clearly showed Jerry was going downhill at the time. There were alleged reasons, out of ring divorce, coke, etc. but if it was May of 74, stepping in against Joe a month or two later was sheer madness!! (look at the LH Frazier nails him with in the..4th?) If there was ANY pre-brain damage shot the predicated Jerry's demise that may, surely be it. Despite Alexander's power, I'll stand by my 'journeyman' comment. Look at his record.
RIP Jerry, you were a great one.
Early-mid 74 Foreman would have ripped Jerry to shreds...sadly. :(

Jerry had that 72" reach...and 200 lb weight. he was a natural today's Cruiserweight.
Though he did beat Shavers, Lyle, and Foster...all "big guys".

You answered your own question. Not saying he beats Foreman because George brought so much firepower and size but Quarry could crack and he put them together better than most heavyweights. If Foreman did win it may be the first time in history that the losing fighter had a 100% connect rate

And Foreman struggled with a former LHW Peralta and Jimmy Young. Two small HWs who couldnt punch. He also proved to be a completely one dimensional fighter with no plan B and very low ring IQ who was dumb enough to punch himself out against a durable opponent fighting off the ropes, which Jerry was great at. Quarry brought plenty to the table. Some of these comments are from folks who clearly dont know much about the era. Sorry guys but its true. Anyone who thinks Quarry couldnt punch, or that his KO over the astronomically overrated Shavers was some sort of a fluke needs to go back to school on these guys. Claiming Quarry is being overrated in order to advance a pro Shavers argument is laughable. Who exactly did Shavers ever beat? A green Young, totally shot Norton and Ellis. Shavers has one of the most padded and overrated resumes of the era so no, its no wonder that a guy who was a legit top ten guy for something like 7 or 8 years KOd him in one.

The Acorn. Went 15 rds with Ali, and put him on Q-street, per Ali himself. Earnie is one of the few
of the 70's good heavies still standing, and maybe someone Joe Frazier wanted no part of.
