Should Povetkin get a hold of any HW championship ( but especially Wilders belt) would Vitali find it politically advantageous to come back and challege him? obviously this scenario rests as much on politics as athletics. I think Vit might see Pov as a winnable fight and return. Especially if Pov gets hold of Wilders belt (where Vit is Emeritus champ)

If Vitali has any doubts about whether or not he should come back allow me to clear that up for him - he shouldn't. He's too old now and would take losses to fighters you'd have expected him to demolish during his title reigns.

There is no point, what can Povetkin do against Vitali when he couldn't do a **** against Wlad ? And everyone knows Vitali > Wlad

you are all three missing the point of the thread. Povetkin is old too. Vitali is now a politician in Ukraine. Russia and Ukraine are at war. would be a great pr victory to take a title from Povetkin (or any Russian). i am not saying any of it is likely.

Vitali vs Povetkin will never happen as will never get a hold of Wilder's belt. The day Povekin sets foot in the ring with Wilder is the day you will witness the greatest knockout in heavyweight history.

I recall the way he played with prime Adamek, basically held him up to give the punters some value.

Povetkin is a top 3 fighter right now. Vitali has been goofing off for the last 5 years. In a nutshell, Povetkin would ravage him. I doubt Vits can even beat Wilder at this age.

Maybe Holmes could make a comeback, while we're at it!

No, Povetkin will be taken home in a coffin covered with Russian flag.

Vitali cant even take on Vladimir Putin, what makes you think he could take his comrade Povetkin? The Tsar Bomber destroys Vitali at this stage.

This. He's been out the ring for almost 6 years and will be 50 in 3 years.
