Knocked out by a LHW with headgear on

Floored by a 400lb carnival freakshow

Saved by the bell vs a featherfisted journeyman

Rocked heavily by a Firtha jab

Performed a Zab Judah imitation at the hands of Dummer Boy

If old man Ortiz lands on Wilder it's going to be an episode of shattered glass for sure. Wilder's chin is A-grade china and it's going to be the end of him come March 3rd!

    Thoughts?

Fully agree. If Ortiz lands some big shots first, Wilder will go down and won't see any lights out there.

If he lands. But Ortiz is getting old and has definitely slowed down in the last couple of years. Still the most dangerous fighter Wilder has taken by far and if Ortiz is even half the fighter he was against Jennings then he should have a decent shot at the upset.

Yeah I lean towards the latter as well. Wilder using a lot of movement and looking to establish the jab to frustrate the slower Ortiz. Don't think he'll take very many chances early and Ortiz will have to capitalize on a defensive mishap if he's to win.

Sounds like his chin has been put through the rigors and has held up pretty well. We could be looking at a rock jaw here:lily:

Wilder will make plenty of mistakes, but Ortiz has to get close to Wilder,on his chest would be ideal for Ortiz. Wilder will try and keep it long.Ortiz needs to close the range. All easy to say I know.I'm looking forward to this one.

Ortiz is old and slow, but he ain't no bum.Would be a Wilders best opponent by far.Would be a good win for either fighter..

Forget the haters. Slow or old Ortiz is one of the best heavyweight out there and the best opponent Wilder will have faced. Im rooting for the Cuban. I give him a 30% chance of winning.

Ortiz is a top 10 HW, which makes him Wilder's best opponent so far.

i say yet again people are sleeping on ortiz

everyone is looking at what ortiz cant do or what is will not be good at

i am judging ortiz on a styles make fights point of view

look at how much trouble southpaw spilzka gave wilder
spilzka boxed well but all he did was basic for a southpaw.

yet wilder found it very hard to get his body into position to cope with a southpaw /was as awkward and clumsy /off balance and uncordinated that he has ever been as a pro.

spilzka cannot punch so he was not in danger of being hurt..

now ortiz is not going to be as light on his feet as spilzka but he keeps his punches tighter/straighter /much harder/

wilder in this fight was very bad technically / he went back way off balance and in no position to defend himself / his chin way open / his feet not under him / his arms in strange positions

if spilzka would have followed him back and threw straight lefts then even with no power wilder would have been dropped not because he was hurt in any way simply because he was off balance.

wilder has a huge height/length/speed/ advantage but the most important thing for him to win this fight IMO will be his legs and judging distance and not over commiting to any power shots.

if he fights and throws punches as he did v spilka he is getting ktfo.

wilder boxes within himself / take no chances/keep the right in check/ keep the windmills at home all night / box long all night / he can win by 3 or 4 rounds .

but the spilzka fight was a warning for this fight v ortiz of just how poor technically wilder was against a southpaw with just a little technical know how.

makes me dubious to how well he will cope with ortiz / can only judge on what i have seen .

I think Ortiz will at least drop Wilder.
